I like these typos that end in r missing the e. playr.com, feelr.com, runnr.com, mailr.com etc. Really easy to remember and spell and all pronounced like the original word. Good find there...

And because they are being used by many "HUGE" websites i.e flickr, tumblr, fiverr, etc.

KIBBO.COM sold for 800$ today in Sedo, 2 bidders, 4 bids.
And BIBA.COM (of course it in addition has double repeating B) is for sale at Sedo for fixed price of 20000 EUR.
BEBOO.COM sold in March 2010 for 5500$ at Snapnames. So yes now I see.

(BUBO.COM, now a website, on the other hand, sold for 4935$ in 2009 info fr. DomainTools. Some end-user got lucky?).
Nice sale KIBBO.COM

I have kibboo.com

Over the past couple of months I have sold more 5L's (as well as a few 4 & 6L's) than at any other time in the past 2-3 years. I'm wondering if this is just a coincidence or maybe there's an increase in the interest on short brand names in relation to "apps"?

I've sold about 10 domains in the past month alone... all over $100 each ($100-$800) - all 5L's. In the same space of time I received at least 20+ offers across various marketplaces... all except 1 on short brand domains.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=420873

To put things into perspective - between January 2010 - July 2010 (around 6-7 months) I'd received a total of about 10 offers and sold no more than 5 short domains over $100.

So, I'm curious to know whether other people have noticed an increase in activity on short domain names recently? Especially over the past couple of months? If so, do you think it is related to the "apps" world ie. iPad / iPhone / SmartPhones etc. or perhaps something else?

Wow. I have many short domains and I don't get that many offers. In what marketplaces are your domains listed?

Another question: does anybody know how many 5L.com are left?

Most of the sales were private (via email and actually a few thanks to twitter and facebook). I also had offers via my own site, Sedo, NameDrive and WhyPark (contact form).

But in general I try to promote my domains via as many avenues as possible. More exposure the better. For lesser quality names I've found ebay to be a good venue - but theres always a risk factor so, like I said - lesser quality names are more suited there.

I think it is demand. With most good 4L domains gone now or selling at a high premium, the next logical step is to look toward 5L. Some people even argue that 5Ls are more likeable than 4Ls. Once all the 5ls are gone then we go to 6L. So yeah, I think there is a trend establishing for 5Ls.

5L will NEVER get over.

26 x 26 x 26 x 26 x 26 = 11.6 MILLION combinations.

The good ones are long gone though, now you have availables that mostly wouldn't sell for reg fee.

Thanks for the info, but I don't agree the good ones are gone.
I hand reg good domains every week, it's just a matter of searching.
