V.nu is up to $500 with a little over 13 hours to go! I think there is going to be some more bids in the last couple of hours! Good luck to all bidders!
V.nu is now at $600, with 13 bids, and a little over 3 1/2 hours to go. This price seems pretty cheap to me, but should go up. We have to remember this name carries a healthy renewal price.
I like it. I would think it would be a good .nu, one used for jobs, etc. Just hang on it it, register it for a few now if you can. Maybe it could sell in the next .nu auction in the future. Good luck. I like Insider.in too!
My latest .nu: retirement.nu ! With everthing going on with people's stocks, savings, and retirement, I thought this might be a good domain for the future.
Greetings all!
Let me introduce myself a little; My name is Peter and have as a Swede been focusing on the .nu-TLD for quite some years now.
Since Nunames (the registry) dont show any droplist as most TLDs do, I made a solution for it myself appr. a year ago and have since then posted
a daily list of newly dropped .nu-domains". You may ask why not a "soon availible list".. and the answer is that from expiring day there "should" be
42 days of redemptionperiod for .nu-domains, but it is more tricky then that - sometimes they drop 7 days ealier and sometimes 7 days after thay should drop - and to publish a
"perhapslist" to drop within 35-49 isnt what I call thrustworthy. Anyway - the droplist is pubished on the Swedish domainforum www.dnzup.se on daily basis under the private section (members only - membership is free)
Also after I have red this thread I feel that I need to state a few thing: "nu" mean "now" in Swedish, Danish and Dutch - but NOT in Norwegian (where its called "nå") You might find interesting aswell that Finland is
However - since the norwegian ccTLD .no is higly restricted to Norwegian companies and organisations registered in their companydirectory "Brønnøysundregistrene" and the TLD also is limited to max 20 domains per company.
TLDs like .nu is fairly well used by privatepersons and smaller companies ...along with gTLDs of course.
Also "nu" have the meaning of "naked" in both French and Portugese - so it is a big misunderstanding that .nu should be compared to the number of Niueans - since the TLD have a natural meaning as "now" to over 31 million people,
and also means "naked" to what ? 300+ millions, and lets not forget its pronounced "new" in english. And comparable with .pro - I will let this URL speak for itself: http://www.google.com/trends?q=.nu%...date=all&sort=1
Well next question is how the TLD is spread out today?
Since the Swedish TLD was reformed as late as march 2003, the .nu-TLD had a "golden age" in the years 1998 to 2003 and ever since that it have lost some grounds on the Swedish market (and the Danish).
However - since 6-7 months the registrartions have started to slovly grow again, both in typical Swedish, Dutch and english words.
In total the market of .nu is about 65% in Swedish, 5% in Danish, 15% in Dutch and 15% in English.
Also most of the so called Premiumdrops once in awhile is usually early speculators that have been holding the domains for like ten years and prolly drop them because of the "stagniation" of the TLD.
The 2 SEDO Premiumauctions in late 2007 and early 2008 were both exclusive domains direct from the .nu-registry (no other participations were allowed). Also there are appr. 300 "special domains" earmarked as "Auction Hold" by the registry-
So I would guess they are planning on new auctions aswell, however I can tell or guess when this would take place.
As you may understand I also have invested in some .nu-domains along the way, and even though I mostly looking for Swedish .nu-domains, some of my english domains might interest anyone in here
- and I do take offers - so feel free to "test me".
Anyway - I am glad I found this thread and I hope to fill in some of my knowledge and experience from the .nu-TLD.

You have some very nice domains. Thanks again for any input you can give us. I have also signed up for your forum.
