.Pro and .Nu are not remotely comparable. .Pro is an international gTLD, that puts it in the same company as .com, .net, and .org, .Nu is an irrelevant vanity country code, one of several hundred.

.Pro means something; professional or pro. Put the 3 letters "pro" into a trademark or company register search and you will get hundreds of matches. .Nu is completely and utterly meaningless, it adds nothing to the brandability of a keyword.

You are way behind the times with $350 reg fees and 3 professions for .Pro. You've been able to register a Pro for $99 by proxy since March 2005. ICANN are voting on removing the restrictions altogether on 29 April.

Any kind of alternative extension speculation is high risk, but if you are going to do it, focus on brandability, potential market size, and commercial meaning. .Nu, .Sh and similar banana republic country codes are muppet magnets.

I take muppet magnets like Dvd.nu anyday!!!!

I will also be sure to let you know when I sell Blackjack.sh!

Google shows statistics for even .mobi, .tv and other cctlds, and it does not contain trends for .pro. The giant in web search, probably missing something?

Nice find..... I'm sure it will be a winner. I have been looking myself, and am noticing there are many names that have expired, and are now available. I have a couple up my sleeve, if no one beats me too them.

I have also noticed that True.nu, Store.nu, Fantasy.nu, Story.nu, Arts.nu, LOL.nu, Body.nu, and Adults.nu all say "will soon be available in a auction". I am not sure if they mean the one we just had, or maybe another one coming?
I have emailed the .nu registry to find out.
