You need Asian language support. Just add it through Control Panel > Regional And Language Settings > Languages > Install East Asian Languages.

I seem to have most of the language ones I think.
I'm missing most Miscelaneous symbols such as the signs of the zodiak, some mathematical operators. dingbats, music symbols, "gothic" Etc
Is there a place where I can download the whole lot? Kind of in the same way that I would download a new font?

There are many strange uncommon symbols that you can't see. Much more also using Microsoft Word. If you copy and past, you don't see nothing.

I think that those character (or symbols) you can't see is because that their was not been formated yet...
it seems that you are a Dingbats (symbols) domain's fans - so am I
