Need help from someone with a CJ account...?

I'm trying to sign up for a CJ account; I've gone through the entire application TWICE now, in both Firefox and IE, and each time, after I get all the information entered, at the very bottom they want you to type in the image code (I assume it's a captcha) before you go any further, but THERE'S NO IMAGE DISPLAYED, and I can't proceed. Very frustrating. Then, to add insult to injury, there's apparently no way to contact them by email unless you have an account already (!!)

So, if someone with a CJ account could drop their Support a note saying their signup page is busted, I'd sure appreciate it.

Sheesh.

Same thing happened to me - it was my ad blocker.

netmeg 01-04-2008 01:33 PM

I don't have any ad blockers.

Netmeg, I just reported the issue to CJ - will pass along their response whenever I hear back from them...

Well then you are screwed!
:hehe:

Once you get accepted you will find their website is extremely buggy - especially when using Firefox. One of the very few websites I actually use IE with.

Thanks enlytend!

As far as the site - if it doesn't work well, or they don't want to fix their problem with signups, then they obviously don't want my business, and I'll find someone else who does. I don't have much patience for companies that make me jump through hoops to do business with them; I get enough of that with Google, Yahoo & MSN.

You can try www.performics.com as well. Many great top-notch advertisers there as well. But they have their quirks too. Like if your email starts with 'info' they throw up errors like it's the end of the world.

netmeg 01-04-2008 02:50 PM

Ok, thanks!

Heh, I own a hosting company; I can give them any email address they want. (Well, almost)

I don't use them so thought I'd have a look.

It might be your firewall.

I use IE7 with Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.0.125 and had to turn off Kaspersky's Firewall Anti-Banner option before the website would display properly.

it came out ok for me, i can see the captcha, got any screenshot?

Well as an update here - I finally managed to see the captcha and sign up on Saturday, although I haven't heard anything back nor gotten any acknowledgment. So I don't know at this point if it even went through.

I tried this on at least six different computers at home, at a friend's house and at work, and at my mother's house. Using both Firefox and IE7. Windows XP and Vista. No ad blockers, no firewalls, no antispyware, just AVG anti virus.

I finally got it to work with one of my own laptops on a totally different connection, fifty miles away in Detroit. The same page would NOT show the captcha anywhere within the city of Ann Arbor. I have both Comcast cablemodem and SBC DSL, too, and it wouldn't work for either. How's that for weird?

The thing is, whatever the issue is, it's probably not just happening to me, and there's simply no excuse for not being able to email someone when one is having problems signing up - I'm not sure whose business decision THAT was, but it's an extremely poor one.

I know I shouldn't be, but I'm still constantly amazed and appalled at how many companies make you work so hard to try to do business with them. Frankly, if it turns out I don't hear back from CJ, it's not going to bother me too much. I have a feeling that if this is indicative of their business model, it won't work well for me anyway.

P.S. Thanks so much to everyone who offered assistance and PM'd me. It was very much appreciated.

if you really need to contact them re: technical difficulties with their site let the admin know about it,

Well it's been ten days, and I've not heard anything back from CJ, either yea or nay, so I have to assume they never got my application. And I still can't see the captcha from any computer closer than 50 miles out. I sent an email to the address you sent me, weblord (thanks) but no reply from that either. I'm thinking it's a lost cause; time to find something else. Thanks for everyone's help.

i really want to help and i remember support@cj.com is working for me well, and i can see captcha letters from where i am though they have already closed my account and stamped it with inactive because of the patriotic act disallowing filipinos to hold a cj.com account outside the U.S.
If i open an account on your behalf they might see the ip address and stamped you as inactive as well

i will be sending an email on your behalf about this invisible captcha.. will update this post once done.
sorry for the delay

Their approval is usually automatic. I got approved right after I signed up. You may want to try to log on and see if you have access.

netmeg 01-15-2008 08:43 AM

Ok I tried that, and it seems like there *is* an account with my email address on it, but of course I don't have a password, so I told them to mail me the password via the forgotten password link, and THAT never came. And I have my own email server, so I actually watched the log files - there was never even an attempt to hit my server. This is definitely among the strangest experiences I have ever had with a company.

weblord 01-15-2008 04:38 PM

they're starting to become like befree/reporting/net/bfast atm that they don't reply to customer support requests, as the account of Philippine-based members were all transferred to reporting.net
this is the one you've used:
https://members.cj.com/member/found...lost_passwd.jsp
they never replied to my email btw
not a word or an autoresponder
i think they're already over loaded with affiliate members
