We are primarily interested in English language domains that are generic/commercial in nature and have type-in traffic.
There are a number of metrics we take into consideration when reviewing portfolios. Two very important factors are whether or not the phrase/term the domain name consists of has a search count and/or paid advertisers in the major PPC search engines, Google/Overture.
Examples of domains we are looking to park include, bedroomfurniture.com, onlinegames.com, cheapcomputers.com, etc.
Also, we do not accept illegal/questionable domains or those that infringe on TM's.
And also they will cancel your account if you register any TM domains with them. They are ultra clean company. I now scanned zone files and found 1.36M domains using Fabulous DNS, will check it for TM domains. And will widely publish what I found.
I've just run some reports, and apart from Gambling/Casino/Poker domains, network wide we are performing well for the following categories (based on RPM):
However, because we have a Google feed, we perform well across the board. We have access to a large advertiser base with high CPC's for those domains that are generic and commercial in nature.
By this I mean, as long as the domains consist of highly searched for keyterms and there are advertisers bidding on those terms, we will perform well.
Mike, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much for the information, it's very helpful.
I accidentally had a couple of TM domains in their parking system and they simply disallowed them. Luckily I didn't get booted. But then it sounds like you are talking about registering TM names with them and not so much trying to park them.
... or sounds like they are very scared company ... does that mean if i have post.com they will cancel my account (i'm pretty sure its TM in some Country/Category) ?
That's a pretty nasty response. Sharing more fairly? I've never seen anything (nor experienced anything) that would lead me to believe the Fabulous wasn't "sharing more fairly"
Look, Parked and Fabulous are both great. I have around 1100 domains, and they're divvied up about half and half between Parked and Fabulous. You know why? Because each has a different FEED. Parked serves Yahoo ads and Fabulous serves Google ads. In some niches, Yahoo ads are more lucrative (and more expensive) In others, Google ads are worth more. That's why you move things around till you find a good fit.
I've been an AdWords and Overture/Yahoo advertiser for five years, and I spend roughly $75,000/month on ads. There are some ads I run on Google that I pay .25/click for that cost me over a buck on Yahoo, and vice versa.
Mike was very gracious in his response to you, while you were quite rude back to him (and apparently ignorant of how PPC works)

Mike is being nice to you by giving you advise.
Parked will(or should) tell you that there are other domains which will do better at Fabulous than at Parked.
Fabulous is not being unfair at all, they give you a fair percentage.
Your best way to make money is to have your domains spread out over 2-3 parking companies and figuring out where to park what category of domains.
The service Fabulous gives you is worth something as well by the way, their customerservice is fabulous.
As some have already mentioned, Parked.com have a Yahoo feed, and Fabulous has a Google feed. For this reason, you will find some domains perform better with Parked than at Fabulous, and vice versa.
It's all about testing your domains across different platforms to see where your domains perform best on a domain by domain basis. You will also find that even with the same upstream partner, some parking providers do better with certain domains.
I'm glad the test has proved successful for you.
Thanks for the comments and kind words netmeg, henniemeijer and SDX.
revenue this month is the lowest it has ever been for me, by a long long way. I can't see an obvious reason- traffic stats are pretty consistent, appears to be a huge drop in cpc, is anybody else seeing this? I understand deep blue sea are not having the best year- is this related? To give you some idea, it looks like my earnings are down 60-70% on my last BAD month!
Hi yes every thing has been low lately can any one tell me whats the highest ppc category ? or whats the highest ppc that u guys have had and what names was it thanks guys .
We have noticed a drop in EPC network wide on domains monetized with us and have put it down to a number of factors, taken from our recent Quarterly Report.:
The weaker economic environment in the US
Generally fewer advertisers (as observed by Dark Blue Sea) leading to a reduction in bid prices and coverage and hence overall yield received by Dark Blue Sea
Changes to the way that online advertisers can place advertisements via the advertiser interfaces of the major search advertising networks; and
An overall uncertain strategic landscape stemming from the unsuccessful takeover bid for Yahoo by Microsoft and the subsequent outsourcing of search advertising to Google by Yahoo.
There have been a number of forum and blog posts about this also, it seems that all of the Parking companies are experiencing the same thing. I would also recommend reading the following blog posts, from someone who seems to have inside knowledge at Google, which may also explain the decline in revenues we are all seeing:
