I started a new site the day after Christmas. Just a simple blog with a couple of affilite ads. I posted new content to it every day, sometimes a couple of times per day. Today, it is ranked #59 on google for the high-paying keyword "paydayloan". This in LESS THAN A WEEK... WOOOHOOO...
#59 out of almost 900,000 sites. Sorry for the rambliing, just excited and had to release! (Wife doesn't understand the significance)
Now, back to your regularly scheldued programming...
You might be getting the new site boost which google genrally gives to new sites, keep working on getting quality backlinks and adding quality content to your site, be aware that you could see significant drop in serp rankings. Not trying to discourage you but just something to keep in mind if you do see drop in rankings don't panic, i have seen this thing happen to lot of new sites.
Google loves wordpress? Emm its good to hear that because I though only blogspot can be google friendly. Seem like you so excited but its normal as If I were you Im also will feel like you.
Google doesn't hate or love anybody, they are pretty impartial as far as i can see, take a close look at your site and you'll know why you're not getting good rankings.
Congrats! So long as you keep building quality backlinks on your site and adding value to your content, you can maintain, or better yet improve your rankings. You should also target some other keywords in your niche for better results in drawing traffic to your site
I agree 100% and have seen on my sites. I rank very well at the beginning and totally disappear after a few weeks if I make no effort to get backlinks.
Site has gone up and down for the above key, but not too drastic. I do have some other keywords from the site that always rank on the first page, but not #1 yet...
I have quite a few more sites up with wordpress and all are doing well...
The site this thread is about has made almost $200 since it was put up Jan 15. $100+ from adsense. It is all generic traffic, absolutely no advertising.
Lucky you. You're getting such a high ranking for such a high paying keyword. I'm struggling to get a good ranking for a low paying keyword at the moment.
backlink building is what really ensures rank. Also I wouldn't call it new site boost. Its just a matter of when your site appears it has just been indexed - while your competitors for those keyword may not have been recently cached - so when they do...they may each move up with you moving down...that's all! But its nice showing up for high paying google keywords. good job!
Maybe you do not like to lern it? And spend lots of time for that?

New sites have a "New Content Boost". Google love new content, there fore, google rank new sites and new pages high in search results, but only for few days.
May be your site is having this new content boost too
I guess it depends on which Yahoo feed you are using. I heard that their content match feed doesn't pay out at all, but ever since a company with Yahoo premium feed invited me to their program i have had Great success and much more revenue than before.
