What to do to get advertisers in?
 

Hey guys,

I am running a webmaster forum for more than 6 months now! And I wanted to monetize the forum by now! I guess it is the right time to do with an alexa of 87k and 30k pageviews monthly!

But there is a problem. I tried to get advertisers, but it looks like no one is interested in sitewide banners on the top ( ? )

What am I doing wrong? Or is it still too early to monetize this forum?

The threads - posts amount does prove the forum is active and that people are replying to the threads that are made!! Why is no one interested in buying advertising??

Does anyone has tips or tactics to get advertisers in?? How are you getting advertisers in?

it seems to still be quite a new small forum (679 isn't a lot of members, and 30k a month views (if not unique) isn't loads).

what are you charging, and where are you asking for advertisers?

maybe have a banner where the ad would be with "want to advertise here" in it.

It is pagerank 3, but will get a higher one in the next update !

I was askin $ 40 monthly, maybe thats to much and I should try asking $ 20?

try it and see if you get more success, I think $40 is a bit too high for pr3 atm.

Have a look at some of the advertisers in the "hosting review" type forums. You might want to approach them directly with a rate card outlining your demographics, traffic etc.. Make them a special introductory offer to get them on board for a few months.

It's pretty low traffic based on CPM price, you should have 100K+ before you look for advertisers.

i am wondering the same thing. for a solid 6 months my site has been receiving 30k - 60k hits a month, and amazingly last month in december we peaked with over 100k loads. I am wondering how to generate more out of my site, and also curious as to how well other sites with similiar traffic stats to mine make. Last month in december, this site made $4.04 from google adsense. how is this adsense income VS traffic ratio look?
