Caution SEO Querry
Hi all,
I'd a site which I'll be goin to optimise soon. I am in great confusion..

I'd to optimise this site for keywords like
Paid Survey ---- 188 (wordtracker count)
Free Survey --- 25

when I used wordtracker it showed more count for plurals i.e.

Paid Surveys ----- 417
Free Surveys ---- 104

Now I wanna ask if I can optimise the site for both singular and plural keyword and how is that possible..

as I can use only one of the combination (either single one or plural one in title)
in link exhange is it advisable to use single and plural both type of combinationas,..

Or will any of you SEO people will suggest me to use only one of them either singula or plural..

thanks for your time and suggestions in advance..

Go for the one with the Higher frequency of search. Once you get those people, to drive in to your site, the rest will automatically follow.

So, Go with the plurals and make the rest follow you. But remember, if you are going to do only the plurals, then, make sure you are at the top for the keyword you are targetting.

John Allen that is not always the best tactics. The most commonly searched terms are highly competitive. Start with long tail searches that still have a decent amount of searches. Once you rank well using them then start to go for the better keywords.

If you try for the main keywords right from the start you will have a hard long road ahead of you with little success.

i'm also a fan of long tail searches. you can find out more about them here: capturing long tail search traffic.

as for whether to optimize singular or plural, i would say do both. optimizing for only will seem unnatural and could even harm your rankings in the long run.

My own experience is to go with the plural. When performing string comparisons:

plural:
term:"surveys" can be found in string: "paid surveys"
term:"survey" can be found in string: "paid surveys"

singular:
term:"surveys" cannot be found in "paid survey"
term:"survey" can be found in "paid survey"

Of course search algorithms are more complex, but finding a string in another string is essentially the root of it all.

Think about what people actually search for i.e.

Get Paid for Surveys
Online Surveys Reviewed
Which Surveys pay the best

I would agree that plurals are very important in my experience.

Plurals indeed! You get to show as well for the singular search. Opting for longer keywords is also a good option. In most cases, long tail keywords or key phrases are more targeted searches and has higher percentage to convert

I would concur with what others have suggested above and that is to go with plurals as it is always more SEO friendly than the singular one's.
