Hi Domainers!

The night of March 11 there was a botnet/DDoS attack on Sedo's parking system. This may have caused an unusual increase in views and clicks for your parked domains as the botnet requested thousands of different domains parked on our servers. The attack happened between 8pm CET and 01:30am CET (3pm EST and 8:30pm EST) and may have caused an increase in traffic, and in some cases it resulted in parking pages responding slowly. There was no revenue lost.

Sedo's technical team immediately focused on stopping the attack and all appears to be back to normal.

It is odd. I saw no increase in visitors at all on the 11th. I did however see a decrease of 30-35% in uniques on the 12th and so far for today. My uniques are extremely consistent, so it is odd. I sent my account manager a question about it, but it is odd that it corresponds to the day after the attack. I am waiting to hear back from my account rep, as it could be an account specific thing. It also does not appear to be affecting my earnings, except on some high traffic names that made money with pop-unders and now don't.

I have bots clicking on my parked.com pages all the time. They get hit and have to filter through a lot fairly often. They don't seem to click much at the other places I park, or they simply don't get through as often.

My account is not upgraded to sedopro. I had more then 200$ earnings in 2 consecutive months. I submitted application to upgrade my account through sedopro.com but they did not respond till date, just no response! I had mailed sedo support but no response from there too! I think i have all sedopro requirements fullfiled. I even have more then 200 Domains in my Sedo Account.
I want to request in this sedo.com official thread to please upgrade my account as soon as possible. And tell how much more time it will take? it has been 2 months now since i submitted application.

These are my stats for today on one of my LLLL.com, I think its a fluke. It tusuallly gets around a 150 uinques a day but never any clicks and today 105 clicks??

631 105 16.64% $0.09 $14.23 $8.98

I wish I had that kind of fluke. My total income for clicks yesterday was $2.55 on 600 names in SedoPro. I know my views/clicks stats are not being recorded properly. In fact my (reported) views are down 50% some months as compared to previous years, and I've added names each year. When I've e-mailed sedo a couple of times to request that whatever problem is hitting my account be rectified, I get the same form letter and no results.

Here's the form-letter respose from sedo (BTW, I don't know what "three" accounts they are referring to....I have one account that I know about at sedo)....sedo's letter to me follows:

I have seen the decrease you've described in the three accounts, and I'm certain that it's a Google and/or market issue as opposed to a Sedo issue. I've talked with some of my counterparts at other parking companies who have noticed a drop as well. You must also keep in mind that over time traffic does taper off for certain types of domains—as user become aware that a particular domain is parked with advertisements; they will not revisit that domain or click any ads.

Go to the domain optimizer page. It is the first option now on the drop-down menues for template selection on every name. This feature is only available for Sedopro members.

Keith, why all of a sudden (in the last couple of weeks) does loads of my sedo pages keep showing ad links that have NOTHING to do with the keywords I have chosen.

The following results are for a domain I have had no problem with for over 2 years - It always showed related ads before

I have a domain with the keyword set to 'download movies' and Google returns ads related to 'ninjas' (lol) - but on the odd occasion if I'm lucky, after the 14th refresh, Google returns related ads.

From what I can work out, if your domain is, for example 'xyz.com' and the keyword is set to say 'car insurance', Google will return ads the majority of time relating to the domain name like: 'Buy XYZ products online...' and then *sometimes* to the keyword you've set.

So I don't think it's anything to do with Sedo. The way to get round this, if you want to use the Google feed, is to go with a parking company that allows you to add/change your own related links and set the domain to a 2-click lander, then when a visitor clicks a related link they're shown the correct ads. But then again, if you like your 1 click landers for great CTR this is no good!

Do you have any info on this, Sedo? I would contact Google and ask them about this, but I think I've got more chance of getting a reply as flying to Mars on a giant cumcumber tonight.

This is a scenario that usually occurs on the advertising provider level. We've found that some keywords are more likely to cause this than others. We recommend adjusting your keyword and previewing the page live in your browser to make sure. Also, you can use "webarchiv" as your keyword, which will cause a two-click portal system to be displayed. Also, Sedo's parking optimizatiom tools do allow all member to edit their related links, which may help to boost the performance of your domains.

ICE = Intercity Express (= high-speed train in Germany), which is pretty much the same as TGV in France! So, "Ice" and "Intercity" are related to "Rail Europe", just misinterpreted by the system. I guess, it's a GOOGLE fault!

Yeah as I posted before, the second links are relevant in the round-about way you mentioned but at the end of the day the links are no good for someone looking for rail tickets.

But - This is most definetly something new and very recent, I've had the name a few years and it never showed such a wide variation of ads, neither did any of my other names.

They always showed ads related to my chosen keywords and NOT the actual domain....there has been a BIG change somewhere. I'm surprised more people have'nt noticed it.

Date:1/14/08..
I got a message from sedo.com , it was saying that they were pleased to inform me that a potential buyer has made an offer for my domain.
So I accepted the offer and put the domain into auction.
The auction ended on 1/21/08.
And got the second message from sedo saying that,
“We are pleased to inform you that the auction of webkameralar.com (in English=webcameras)has ended with a closing sale price of 400 EUR.
You and the buyer have now agreed to a legally binding contract for the sale ofwebkameralar.com.
Sedo's transfer team will now assist you with this transfer, including helping you with your registrar to ensure the transfer is successfully completed.”
Then we all began the buyer to pay for the domain. In sedo’s bidding contrast the payment should be paid in 10 days or otherwise..
No otherwises ,and no sedo trust..
They only sit and drink their coffee..you may think that they work for us..
They are nothing..

I sent so many emails to sedo and got answers..
and they only say ,wait wait wait..we waited 2 months and they did nothing..
because I forced sedo and askıng what they are,
they did something..
they got the full payment and told me to wait again..
waited some times..they later told me ,after they got the full payment ,they were not be able to reach the buyer so they cannot complete the transfer..
I told sedo that they should keep the domain in their sedo accounts and when they reach the buyer they transfer or push the domain in his account.i sent the AUTO CODE to sedo to keep the domain.later they told me I should push the domains in the same registrar another account..i did what they told me and gave the new account(with domain) and the password..

Date 3/20/08 .. they told me they would have to cancel the transaction because they were not be able to reach the buyer..
