I think it was $4600 If I remember it correctly. I guess the high bidder of first auction didnt commit. The second high bid of first auction was $4500. The third high bid was about $2xxx.
So the name was re-listed for auction and started at $4500 (second high bid of first auction). At one point, the $4500 was removed (I do not know the why it was removed) and $2xxx became the top bid.
I think it is not fair to start second auction from second high bid of first auction. In this case, $4500. This is one thing that I don't like about NJ auction. The second thing is the starting bid isn't proxy bid. And you cant change it if you make a mistake.
I second that. I wasn't aware of the fact that the bids weren't proxy and made a bid on a heap of what I thought were quad premium .com's. I bidded about $350 each but what I thought were g's were in fact q's. Of course I won but instead of paying slightly higher than the second bidder's bid which would have been less than $100 I of course paid $355 each.
I contacted support explaining the situation but predictably they just told me that they can't do anything, a bid's a bid. So I ended up with about $500 worth of domains for more than $1,500. Oh well, you live & learn but I don't use NameJet anymore after that experience
That's bad and I believe many more have the same experience.
You have to be ready careful before you place your bid and you have to be really really careful before you start a bidding war with another bidder. I've cut down my spending @NJ. I may stop using NJ soon.
Just picked up itxt at snapnames for $55. I'm not to happy with the price but I feel that its a great name. I'm thinking of developing it into a free text messaging service.
I was thinking that itxt could stand for "Internet Texting" "Internet Text Messaging" or something of that nature.
I think it's a fantastic name! Its got a relevant leading "i" and a short and symmetric "TXT" and the .NET ext fits your dev plans. To me it just means "I Text" which is what you do when you send an SMS on your mobile. You didn't overpay for this, IMO. itext, com goes nowhere and itxt, com is parked...
I was thinking the same as well. I see the name as "I Text"... I'm really happy with the name and don't think it will be to hard to develop. This is my first LLLL.net domain and I was watching it for the past few days on snapnames and I just thought it screamed development. Text messaging is very popular and I think a free text messaging service like "I Text" would be great.
1/2 of my names that aren't random letters scream development, but that's not the value I see in iTXT,net... "i" is hot, short is hot, mobile is hot, social is hot, and .NET is fitting.
I knew right when I saw itxt what it had to be used for. When its that easy to recognize your half way there. You might have been able to pick it up for cheaper but you run the risk of a bidding war, so if your happy its a good buy.
congrats, gary.
-now go develop

The second I saw the name, I thought the same thing. Yea I thought I was going to get it for around $20 but the guy that kept outbidding me would wait until less than 1 minute and place a bid and that happend a couple times. Oh well its a great name and I look forward to developing it.
