no, he outbid me on mlbr.net though.

I didn't get any LLLL.net there today. I picked up a NNNN.net, MyEbo.com and Cudda.com.

Not a bad ROI on those sales, esp the all premiums.

I see they're in the .net section. Seems logical to put them there but I wonder if they'd do better in the 4 letter dot com section. That's where I assumed they'd be (just cause I've seen them there before).

Are these Namepros sales? ebay?

I've wondered too about setting starting bids lower - like .99 - to get more bidders involved. It's a risk but I wonder if statistically, on average, they would fetch more. I think there's something, psychologically, about not wanting to "lose" an auction once you've entered it. Might squeak higher bids out of some.

Course it's easy enough for me to speculate with someone else's profits on the line.

Once I get my act together and get all my recent purchases accounted for on paper, I'll be "testing the waters" as well.

Yeah, I was tracking all my sales early in the year and now probably 15 or so behind. Once I get caught up I will test out the bay again.

Try it, you'll like it ... (try it with one, see how it goes). But auctions are always hit or miss - you just hope that a few hits will more than balance out the misses. And if they don't - then just have to wait for the market to heat up a bit, or move over to fixed price sales (and again, have to wait for people to meet your asking price) ...

One "hedging" technique that worked for me to some extent for LLLL.com auctions on eBay was to place decent (but not high) bids in other auctions on the same days my pieces were out there. So if it was a slow day for bids and my own LLLL.com went cheap - sometimes I'd get a consolation prize of picking up another name at a decent price to replace it. (Minus PayPal and eBay fees of course).

glok.net - I am stocking up on some pronounceable ones and 4 letter premiums.

I am sure I overpaid for it but I spent profit from previous sales on it so I like to think I got it for free.

i'm totally with you on pronounceable names. When that name sells for $xxx in a year or two the 59 bucks wont seem like much

Things are really heating up over at snap. Have had barely no competition grabbing ones a month ago now there are 3/4 people bidding on the premium ones. These went today and the final prices are pretty exciting for the people holding a lot of premium ones IMO.

bcoo.net $55.00 22-Feb-2008
gnrs.net $30.00 22-Feb-2008
gssf.net $30.00 22-Feb-2008
scdp.net $31.00 22-Feb-2008 - I wanted this one
aifb.net $20.00 22-Feb-2008
nbtp.net $16.00 22-Feb-2008

Did I say it was? glok is premium because it is pronounceable.

I also picked up ndig.net and bbtg.net from snap. Like I said, pronounceable and premium. They don't have to be both.

On 4 of those buckshot I was the high bidder with about 10 min to go.

I bid up all of the ones that went for more then $30 including bcoo for $55. I stopped at $50 there.
