![]() | A must read for all NEWBIES Wow, Wow Reece you are the CHOSEN ONE, what a write up? Thank you millions time over. This is a wonderful help to newbie’s like myself. One thing I am still having problems with is Parking or going for services such as whypark and domainembarking.com. For me self development is out of the question because I have no technical expertise or the funds. Can I please ask you to shine light on this? Thanks, you are my hero Reece and all of you contributors.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Producer007, Thanks for your kind words ![]() If you have the time, I'd definitely recommend going with a service like whypark. Another cheap alternative is to setup blogs on each of your domain names. Definitely cheaper to setup a couple wordpress blogs and see how good of a content writer/SEO superstar you are versus outlaying a pile of cash on something like whypark without any guarantees. So starting out... I'd say park your names at Namedrive, and pick a couple to blog about. If you can get decent numbers, look into setting up Adsense or an affiliate program on them. Feel free to ask around here or send me a pm for help with that if you need it. You can even try the blog concept without a domain name if you want. You can start with a freebie subdomain and try your luck. I started a blog on 4 letter domain names (overall, a pretty small niche compared to a blog about domain names in general) and I now get 100-200 visitors to my site daily. It's all about differentiating yourself from the rest. There's easily 30+ domain name blogs out there and then there's forums like Namepros and resources like Namebio, DNSalePrice, DNJournal, etc. Targetting the domain name market as a whole isn't likely to be all that great of an idea at this point, clearly.. However, targetting a small segment as I have has led to constant daily readership. What also helps when writing about a niche is that you can of course choose what to write about -- and should choose something you like and are good at. In my case, I'm fairly experienced buying, selling, and trading 4 letter .coms, whereas I'm not all that experienced with 2 letter .coms, 3 letter .coms, geo .coms, .nets, .org, etc. Indeed, I really don't know enough about domaining to compete with the industry superstars -- so I won't. I'll stick to what I know -- and what I know better than them. So maybe your niche is a particular college football team, maybe even a site about your progress in the domain name world -- just try and differentiate it from what's out there. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/404593-an-intro-to-domain-name-investing.html There's definitely alot more money to be made doing this than: 1) MFA (made for adsense) sites 2) Parking hand registered domain names 3) Developing websites when you don't know how to develop, can't afford to outsource, and don't have the time to learn.

![]() | Hello again, I'm all over the place these last two days, I'm a newbie not only to domains but to forums also, I never needed to frequent forums as much as I do now, so I'm learning my way around here. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction when it comes to terminology in domaining, I hear the acronym TM a lot and typos, which typos is self explanatory, but what are TMs? Is there a website that someone knows about that explains these terms and words in details? ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=404593 Also, since I just joined the forum, I recently read the welcome email and there was something there about being able to post your google adsense ads on here, how does that work? is anyone here doing that? I entered my adsense Id in my profile but how does that work here in terms of how to post the ad and how do you get paid? I imagine it's google that pays but there seems to be so much more about it that I'm not getting. So a little light on that would be great. And finally, I see a lot of you are able to post links at the bottom of your posts, I know this is done through the reply tool when you reply to a message by using the <> tag symbol, is it as simple as entering the <href ... tag or does it need to be preceded by something else like the entire <htm> header and all that stuff? I don't know if the message window/tool will automatically interpret the html tags and only show the highlighted or underlined link. Thank you all for you generosity and patience. Chas. |

![]() | Hi Reece - Thanks for excellent information - it is very useful!!! Hi Chassmp3, I know about adding urls in the signature, What you need to do is click "UserCP" - a link in the upper left corner of the screen. Once you are into it you need to click Edit Signature There you can add your signature . To add URL you can type in as follows <URL=http://www.resistor.in>GET ELECTRIC</URL> Replace < & > with [ & ] respectively So everytime you post a message your signature will be added Ok found out what TM typosquatting is - it is TradeMark (TM) typosquatting it is a way to drive traffic to the site by registering a domain name which is similar to a bigbrand name, of course with some typing errors. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=404593 this way one can drive-in some of the traffic onto the site Also found that there are ethical debates over it. Don't know if its illegal! |

![]() | Hey gr8names, Thanks for that clarification, now it makes a heck of a lot of sense, a lot of mixed opinions on this point though, I guess this actually pays off well for some. Being a newbie though I'd rather not mess with this. I have another question for anyone one though and this is one of the things that's really got me confused about the whole parking business. I hear good things about Parked.com, Evolanding.com, namedrive etc. Now I'm also hearing about places like whypark.com and 1plus.net, because 1plus.net was free I went and signed up and when I asked a question one of their admins I think said "cease using 1plus.net and go to iModo" So I imagine that 1plus.net and iModo are the same place? So when it comes to type in traffic, which as I understand is when people actually type a URL in the browser address field, right? I mean does that really still happen? Are most of these companies getting their traffic that way? However that's not the only question. I am seeing a lot about how parking is changing and developing sites with content not just links is the way to go. So right now I feel more interested in developing traffic for the few names I have, so out of the many places where you can do that. Which ones do not have a minimum number of domains when you join? I am currently parking at sedo and namedrive because it doesn't matter how many domains you add, and I don't want to just register names for the heck of having the minimum number to join Parked, Evo or iModo. Sedo and namedrive are not generating any traffic for me yet, I don't know if this takes time or if it's just all wrong for me. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=404593 Anyways, I'm hungry for the knowledge guys! Thanks Chas. |

2. Read more, write less. At least for a month. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=404593 3. Read all the guides / help / stickies on the forum before asking basic questions that have been asked and answered a 1000 times on these boards. | ||||

![]() | Reece, thanks I hope to catch you on PM. Actually, I took signed up to whypark and I already have 34 sites up. Parked with parked, namedrive, sedo, evolandin, imonetize, trafficclub, trafficz. Now I need to get blogs out there and I have a niche that has nothing to do with domains. I am not technical but I think what I need is just an installation and template design using wordpress. But I want it to be professional like in terms of asthetics and functionality. I kind of like travelpod.com and thesandtrap.com. I want people to come and blog with photos, videos and whatever medium of reporting. The problem is cash - I don't have. What kind of money will take to do something like this and time frame? Any takers? Reece we need you |

![]() | Thanks for the great guide. A few times you mentioned LLLL.com, VCVC.com, CVCV.com, LNLN.com etc. It took me quite a few minutes to figure it out, but my best guess is that the letters mean: L - letter N - number C - Consonant V - Vowel Right? When you say LLLL.com, does that indicate that all 4 letters are the same letter? Or can it be any letter? (i.e. would you refer to BBBB.com as an LLLL.com? would you also refer to BHFK.com as an LLLL.com?) |

![]() | thank you Reece! Best best bestest info and help for a newbie-me (overnight domain junkie) You give me hope, courage and resolve that I can do this, despite what my family and friends think. I've probably only wasted $100. and bought a few halfway decent names. mg!(muchas gracias) Never had so much fun! I have both a wild imagination and a practical mind as well as somekind of inherent overview and understanding of the workings. Is the domain name lender legitimate and safe? Deborah 4 |
