hi ODS - thanks for offering your perspective on this. But this is the countdown thread - you're not likely to find a warm welcome getting in the middle of folks focusing on getting the good ones while they still can. If it's not for you, then there's actually a thread dedicated to more thoughtful, critical analysis of the potential for LLLL.net -> http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...l-net-may.html

Lorenzo might appreciate you bumping that thread for him - it's been dormant for a while - and he's actually been posting more in this one lately ...

Seriously though - opinions are great - everyone's got at least one (I tend to have several at any given moment) ... but facts and real analysis are much more in demand here and may actually be appreciated - and might be a bit more persuasive than the standard trollish mutterings.

and then people would have to rush for the non premium combo's i think tht would take time to go

People originally predicted that all LLLL.net's would be gone in August but now that seems a tad incorrect.
Most probably *ALL* combos shall be registered by April if the current rate of things continue.
Again, I am not a trend expert but after looking into this stuff that is what I think.

Yeah, but seeing experts like Reece and ItalianDragon speaking out against LLLL.nets does scare me a little but in the end, I have personal conviction in LLLL.nets all the more if they are pronounceable.
If the LLLL.com market crashes (highly unlikely) then LLLL.nets have almost zero potential so we are taking a BIG risk.

Isn't it ironic.

The same people who complain about trash talking of the LLLL.com market are trash talking the LLLL.net market.

I wonder if a whois search will bring up those who're actually buying this so called 'trash'.

Seems to be a case of 'do as I say, don't do as I do'.

If you're interested in my perspective -

You are welcome to sell, but please not at reg fee!

The minimum price would be around $20 each, maybe more if they do run out. Keep TTVT for yourself and resell it hundreds later.

They did... but not anymore - Even Lorenzo jumped at the chance to buy up a few premium LLLL.net's when he saw the lists getting shorter and shorter.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=403871

At the end of the day it is domain investors that control the market. If all of the .com's are gone and end user either pays the high end user price or tunrs to .net - If the .net is gone what do they do? Use their ccTLD? Use an obscure TLD that doesn't relate to their business? Or simply pay less for the .net counterpart?...

Who knows. What I do know is that only a couple of years ago people naysayed the ones that bought up premium LLLL.com's... Look at them now. People did the same with LLL.net's. Look at them now.

Yup thats correct. On Jan 21st when I did my big scan there was 15,519 left. Two weeks on we are almost under 2000.

Back to office, back to business.

Hope everyone had good weekend.

I took another small lot of premium .nets, including some dropped ones with D: dhph.NET, dihp.NET, E: eghr.NET and R - rhmb.NET

Found also few nice ones, i.e. fbci.NET, ptoh.NET.

By the was, few names handregged last Monday show quite good traffic, i.e. CFFA.net - 23 hits.

I need to add more such beauties today

Reece and ItalianDragon are the same experts as all we are. E.g. they are the same domainers as we are with their own prognosis and believes. (p.s. as far as I remember Reece sold about 1000 LLLL.com domains just two-three weeks ago. and could get 30k more for them now...). The main niches that can give you huge profits those that are greatly underpiced now. LLLL.coms were greatly underpriced in comparison with LLL.coms 3 months ago and now the Result! LLLL.nets are currently underpriced in comparison with LLLL.coms and LLL.nets and will be gaining their value. Perhaps slower than .com which is king but they will do it because proportion between .com and .net will be always because it's natural. There are people that invest $xxxx in domain names for the project and there are always people that can invest not more than $xxx for a comparable name but in .net

Fully agree. Just a remark - LLLL.com even now are still underpriced, fair value LLLL.com = LLL.com/26= $250 min.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=403871

Fai value LLLL.net=LLL.net/26=$30 min for any LLLL.net. Premium shall be worth 4 times, i.e. $120.

Yep, that's exactly the point there, and if you use the traditional .NET vs .COM Ratio, then LLLL.Net's should be at least at $26 minimum... that is $50-$60 for quad premiums.

This reminds me I need to hand reg a few more.

Only around 2k left now.

Writing in a forum with tens of posts on similar topics gets a bit confusing. So let`s clear:

1) I thought that LLLL.net was not a wise investment right now but I changed my mind since the number of Premium ones decreased 10 times faster than what I expected. Plus, in the mean time LLLL.com prices are increasing faster than what I expected too, so that was enought to justify Premium LLLL.net being valuable and when I say valuable I mean at least $50 each.

2) I advised Reece many times to keep his LLLL.com for at least 2 years but he has decided to follow another strategy, that is his decision.

while reece and ID have some great insight, this market is moving very quickly. As with any moving market, no individual / organization can forcast the end value. Time will tell.

Buy, Vault, Dont fight the market.....
Sort of like the giants yesterday ;-)
