![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Unfortunately, they know enough to NOT make an offer. They simply asked you: "Can you accept 5,000 USD?". That's still in the negotiation stage (if it were real). If they stated "I will buy your domain for $5,000", that would be an offer.

The website he directed me to is http://www.domainexplorer.org/Archive-09-2009/91462735.htm Which pushes http://www.researchappraisals.com/ researchappraisals.com is a scam |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I too received an email from DomainSecondhand.com last week. This is the first time I had ever received one of these scam emails, but I knew right away it wasn't legit. To make sure, I came here and did a search for it. Sure enough here it is laid out nicely for me to read about. My email was perhaps a little more harsh then most as I replied with "Get f*cked, scammer." Haven't heard from them since.

![]() | thedomaininvestors.com is a scam ! Here is the mail I've just received : Dear X, Happy New Year! Can you accept 15,000 euros for the following package: X.com Y.com Z.com Do you sell domain with a web site or just the name? Domain without content is ok with me. Web site is not necessary. Have you had your domain names evaluated in the past? I mean domain appraisals. Without valuation we cannot be sure in the sale price. It's very important for me in terms of reselling too. But we must engage a valuation company with REAL manual service. So I will only accept valuations from independent sources I and my partners trust. To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal companies. Please check this blog with suggestions from other sellers and buyers: If, for example, the valuation comes higher you can adjust your asking price accordingly. It will be fair. I also hope you can give me 12% - 15% discount. After you send me the valuation via email (usually it takes 1-2 days to obtain it) we'll continue our negotiations. What is your preferred payment method: Escrow.com, International wire transfer, PayPal.com or something else? Hope we can come to an agreement fast. Looking forward to your reply. Richards It's just a scam, as I have found other posts with almost the same text word by word on this forum. For example : http://www.namepros.com/401699-domai...-a-scam-3.html ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=401699 They have just changed their domain name. Beware. ---------- Post added at 05:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:25 PM ---------- I found it strange they were offering 4 times the prices listed on sedo.com :-) ---------- Post added at 05:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:34 PM ---------- They redirect you there : http://www.researchappraisals.com That's where they make money : 49 EUR for one domain "manual" appraisal.

![]() | Damn, I just read this forum after I have paid for a manual appraisal. I think I lost €49,- for nothing. I also have received exactly the same emails. In my case, the sender was 'daniel friedman' (email: friedman / a / thedomaininvestors.com). I don't think now, I can see forward to my appraisal anymore. Let's wait and see if I receive something. If not, I will tell the police via email. (Hopefully, they will put more resources on internet crime). Regards, Oscar |
