Sometimes I lose my courage when I see people register completely *$##_@ names.

They all have good intentions, they are ordinary guys like us, desperate enough to reg domains they hope they can sell afterwards.

No need to blame them-really sad...

Well, i guess that it depend what you'll do with this sort of domain. Of course, if you buy domain like this one for the purpose of resell, It worth nothing. But, some peoples reg these domain for SEO purpose.

I know many, many guys who own domains with alot of hyphen :
pppp-pppp-pppp-pppp-pppp.com and make a shitload of money marketing it.

There has 4 hyphens between each word. He must be crazy but he's not because his domain is positioned at the spot #2 on Google for a very competitive one keyword (7,420,000 search).

For you, it worth nothing...but for him, it's priceless!!

Just my 2c

Hyphens do act as separaters for keywords. However, separting letters in a word would do exactly the opposite by making words into just individual letters. n-a-m-e.com would be virtually useless for SEO in my opinion unless you type a space between the letters of the words you search for.

If anyone wonders if there's any money in it, just think about how many real domains like this you've ever seen developed....None.

Newbies just hear that one word domains are valuable and somehow construe this as a one word domain. In actuallity n-a-m-e.com is a 4-word domain with each word being one letter and not really being words at all.

I have seen a few L-L names developed though, with m-w.com coming to mind.

Hypens are not useless, but should generally be avoided. They are absolutely necessary for a name like PetsExchange.com since a search engine could read it as PetSexchange.com giving it a whole new meaning. For a name like this Pets-Exchange.com avoids all potential confusion.
