![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's amazing these non-premium VCVC.com that were being auctioned in TDNam between $10-$40 few months ago are now in the range between $100 - $400. I remember when you could buy like azaw.com type of combo for only $10-$20 now those days are gone |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it seems most NPers believe that CVCV.com's are among the best of the LLLL.coms but I have more than 700 LLLL.coms of all varieties and I have received my highest offers from CCCC.coms. In the past week I have sold three CCCC.coms for a total of $2300. (One beginning with a P for 300, one beginning with a F for 1050 and one beginning with an X for $950) I simply stay patient until an end user makes a healthy offer. I'm finding that my CVCV.com domains are less desirable than my others. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=378968 I don't blame them, really. Dotcom projects a certain image -- and regardless of traffic loss, it's just not an image I'd ever want not to project. If you're going to spend XXX,XXX putting a commercial on TV or potentially X,XXX,XXX with a large advertising campaign, what sense does it make to not have a .com? Some people seem to misunderstand cents and sense Good sense is about saving cents and there's no better way to save cents than by not sending any of your targetted traffic to domainers or worse -- your competitors.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So what's the min price you're noticing for all premium letters LLLL's? Is it above $100? ~MG

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would prefer CCCC to many of the goofier sounding if pronounceable CVCV or VCVC combinations, and (personally) am starting to accept CCCC as "pronounceable" in their own special way - ie, 4 syllables (+2 for any 'w' in the mix) ... Consider the corporate brand image carried via CCCC acronym such as KPMG.com or CMGI.com compared to "empty vessel" coined word such as Tupi.com or whatever ... (and certainly no offense intended to anyone holding Tupi.com in their portfolio - sounds great, I'm sure it's worth good money and is perfect for many end users!) Different strokes as they say ... it's all good, more or less. Well - okay, some more, some less ...!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would certainly buy all premium letters LLLL's for $100. I saw all the auctions at TDNAM, Sedo and even namepros going over $100 for these goodies. Too bad I have only a few of them.

Just think about how many premium LLLL.coms there actually are for a second.. If we take 3character.coms premium definition: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T are all premium. That would make over 80,000 (eighty thousand, no typo) LLLL.coms premium. Add in the CVCV and VCVC and we're at about 100,000 premium LLLL.coms (sorry I really can't do the addition-subtraction thingy here at 6:30 am) And I'm sure many of you would argue that K,U,V -- some of you, maybe even W and Y premium if there's only 1 of them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | IMO W is premium. I made another post on the last page and there are very much quality acronyms for W. Also K is a good letter. I think I will start a thread with letter valuation. When we think of LLLL's, we do not think of how many times does W appear in a word, but how many times does a word start with W. because LLLL's will have potential as acronyms. I personally prefer more a W in a LLLL than a F. K, U also hold some value. But not as premium as the others. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think it's reasonable to assume that what makes a letter premium is the higher possibility of consisting a word with it, that is basically the frequency of usage. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=378968 So according to wikipedia the frequencies are:
According to this "u" is very premium and so is w.. ~MG

![]() ![]() | I believe that the frequency in which a letter is the 1st letter of a word, rather than it's usage anywhere in a word, is more important. Do we know of any frequency stats for letters as the 1st letter of a word? I tend to believe that J is OK for the 1st position of LLLL.com because of the common American names that start with J (James, John, Jay etc.) and W or J is OK for 2nd position because of common last names (Williams, Wilson, Jones, James etc.). I am wondering if names are included as words in this study. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=378968 Also, does the study place more weight on the frequency of words? The words "on", "the", "is" or "of" are going to show up much more frequently in the English language than "zebra" or "velocity" or "use". What is the weighted percentage of the use of a letter based on word usage? I am not sure this study is giving us the full picture on letter usage that is important to users/buyers of LLLL.com. |

Never heard of them, but nice to see a strong LLLL.com sale outside our cvcv/vcvc avenues. Selling 1/1500 LLLL.coms at this price annually would pay for the renewals on everything.. Think that's achievable?

Perfectly reasonable imho, and with proper liquidation of the remainder, should turn a very reasonable profit
