This is a good start. Are there improvements down the road? I sure hope so! But nevertheless, it's encouraging to see a major player -- Sedo, standing by .mobi, at least a bit. I definitely agree that we should see .mobi listed right up there with .info, and not in due time -- ASAP. Other than that, Sedo can make their changes in due time, like our Rosey© friends have always agreed to

add moniker to this list of peeps/places standing by .mobi as per his visits to the "other" forum.

Encouraging for mobi enthusiasts, discouraging for mobi bashers, who, like you said, not too long ago said mobi is doomed and worthless. And when the day comes that the ad eventually drops from the Sedo homepage I can hear the cries of detractors that Sedo is dumping their support of .mobi, blah, blah, blah. It is all so very predictable, just like the Rosey eyed bashing coming to all those who might have voted yes to the front page listing or selected a total sales price higher than was actually pulled in.

I was offended by neither that much, but it was likely other fellow mobiers would jump in on the anti-Jeff side by reflex and then it would have been me and Jeff against the entire pro .mobi camp again.

Sometimes I feel Jeff does this on purpose, i.e. he makes valid points and then makes it next to impossible for the pro-mobi side to agree with him so he retains pretty much exclusive ownership ownership of the point.

At least with Sedo and related issues such as S&D he has built quite a portfolio now.

If it is on purpose, it's freakingly clever.

I find myself occasionally in agreement with Jeff, primarily on the times we see some blatantly bad names posted for valuation and he gives his rubber stamp appraisal (0<reg fee, undeveloped

). But there is no doubt in my mind he would have offered the same rubber stamp for VegetarianCooking.mobi and yet it was recently sold for $400 undeveloped. So it is obvious to me that turd colored glasses™ are clouding his judgment of the opportunities in this tld. If he wants exclusive ownership of that perspective then he can have it.

And while I certainly would not have appraised VegetarianCooking.mobi for $400 "Quick Sale" Wholesale (which is the default standard for appraisals here on a domain name discussion board, unless specifically requested otherwise) ... though I would have appraised it higher than Reg. fee+, IMHO (and VERY MUCH publicly encouraged its development along with that appraisal!!).

Which specific End user paid $400 for the undeveloped domain name ... and when will this developed website be added -and promoted- to the critical .MOBI "ecosystem"?

Right now it appears simply "parked" ...

No, my watch is not broken - all MTLD auction appear to have been pushed back by about 10 minutes or so.

The previous time this happened (not with the MTLD auctions, I'm talking weeks ago) Sedo put a note on each affected auction stating that it was extended due to server issues.

I can't see a similar note this time.

Could this be related to what acc observed in Jeff's thread:

To be fair to Sedo, there is the .mobi ad on the right - and unlike in the first couple of days now it leads straight to the MTLD .mobi area.

P.S.: The problem with that ad right now is that directly above it is a flashing ad for the .co.uk auctions, which ended long ago!

Can somebody possibly call their Sedo rep and ask the to turn the .co.uk thing off?
