Just emailed my rep too about the ending times.
Also brought up the subject again about getting .mobi in its rightful place amongst the tlds. Not lost amongst the cctlds.
I did bring this up in October with Brad (sedo Legend) but he is in another dept. now unfortunately & sedo is falling apart a bit without him tbh.

He said at the time it was on their agenda to do, that was 11 months ago.
We have seen it before like mobi commission price etc, they have to listen to us, no question, or they will end up worse off.
Get writing to your reps, this is a big thing for mobi holders, get .mobi in its rightful place amongst the tld search results

If anyone has spoke on the phone to Sedo today, did it sound like there is any hope for change on 'Issue 1' in the next 40 minutes?

As you've seen Jeff I have been developing as much as I can and will continue to do so, I now have approx 10 devleoped sites, it's all good in my eyes! As long as we start getting traffic to mobi's and PPC income i'll then be a happy chappy!!

Buyers, don't forget you can't just bid on Sedo if you haven't done so before - it sounds like in some cases it takes a week or so for 'approval' to be granted by Sedo.

I put a few lowball bids in just for the fun of it. I was a little disapointed to see they felt the need to have reserve prices in place.

You bring up an excellent point - Arnie will probably pick it up and add it to the list of things to bug Sedo about.

It's a pretty serious point actually - aren't they required to take color blindness and similar frequent conditions into account when designing their bidding interface (at least)?

I agree, and would not be surprised to see it break the flowers.mobi record. It has everything going for it--HUGE .com owner, tons of Google sponsored listings for the term, ENORMOUS competitors, great chance to own a generic, AND maybe most importantly the ability to capture some of the .com owner's type-in traffic. How many customers does B of A get when people type in loans.com? How many B of A competitors would love to get those customers when they type in loans.mobi on their cell?

IMO, books.mobi is very similar--owned by Barnes & Noble, and Amazon, eBay, Borders and a bunch of others pay for that term on Google. Wouldn't they jump all over the chance to divert some of that generic type-in traffic to their site? Whatever they spend to buy the mobi would be a drop in the bucket compared to their potential upside.

I sent 12 e-mails to companies that would be great end-users for books.mobi. And 18 e-mails to companies that would be great end-users for banks.mobi (under the same theory as loans.mobi). Will continue to work through the list today and tomorrow. The worst thing that can happen is for logical buyers to miss out on the auction simply because they don't know about it....

Rep added. We all owe you a deep thank you from the bottom of our hearts.. You're single handedly increasing the odds of big name enduser adoption -- and that's wonderful for developers, domainers, and corporations alike

For a bank like Bofa.. How could they risk letting that name go for 30k to a domainer versus buying it themselves? They know full well that the price will be X,XXX,XXX if .mobi becomesthe mobile de facto standard.

Yes, good job ... obviousy, for the "ecosystem" (priority #1 for mTLD, IMHO), I am hopeful that End users / developers participate in these auctions and develop amazing & compelling .MOBI websites for those that "are on the go" IMHO.
