I guess if mobi is even half of .com it's all good I'll be thinking twice before I sell anymore for $xx or $xxx.
Chocolatier is a great name (so are the others, but I'm a big chocolate fan )

Actually, while it is true that .us availability (as other availablitities) is one factor, it is one of the smaller factors and is tied to many other factors so it shouldn't make that big of a difference. But I will test it and see whether it somehow affects the .mobi valuations more than I thought.

Well, I can say that it wasn't me. I was surprised to see this (although happy that I get .mobi feedback!). I only spontaneously talk about EstiBot in my thread in the advertising/for sale board. I feel that I am entitled to respond though if someone else wants to talk about it.

.mobi is hard to valuate. Market is not stable and there is not enough recent data for me - I cannot get reliable statistical results. And about gaming.com, yes it is true that some names have intrinsic value that is beyond the metrics, and that surely is a limitation of automated algorithms. But what it does say is that gaming.com is valuable, it just does not say how valuable exactly, and it is up to the user to make that final valuation.

Thanks anyway for testing, your comments help me in the development. I will adjust the .mobi valuations as I get more data and more analyses done.
Josh

EDIT: Forgot to mention - please try all lowercase first. EstiBot is more accurate when it gets to automatically determine the keywords. Only if you think the keyword determination is wrong, then try capitalization, and also with eDomains capitalization is needed: iDomain.com, eDomain.com.

Sorry about that inconvenience but I can't make the keyword detection perfect....

Josh
I'm a big fan of Estibot (and not in any way affiliated with Esa for those wondering). As I've said time and time again... New domainers need a way to get a relatively accurate guage of the market. As the gaming.com example elucidates -- it need not be perfect, but if the new domainer was sitting on gaming.com (and we can tell from some Snap/Pool drops that some people have no clue how valuable their 10+ year old domain is), he'd be sure not to sell it for say, 10k or whatever lowball offer someone out there may offer him. It sure beats the heck out of Leapfish and looking at Leapfish's Alexa... Looks like alot of people need something better at appraisals
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=366634

As for foreign language names, my experience has lead me to believe that Estibot reports back English Overture results only, or at least a limited amount of foreign languages Overture results (based on foreign .mobis having earned their reg fee back in PPC being considered worth only reg fee). In the case of RUK.mobi, it does of course have a very special "adult" meaning in a foreign language, so 2k may not be far off the mark. I can't justify the value of my arv.mobi ($3600) unfortunately, however taking 1% of the .coms price ($26000) yields a very accurate result ($260), just off the $250 I paid for it.

All in all, I'm quite impressed with the accuracy of Estibot in regards to my purchase prices and feel that it's certainly worth looking at before selling a name, just to make sure you didn't miss something -- and to be able to accurately guage the potentially large opportunity cost of selling a .mobi now, rather than in the future.

Help The Homeless - Holiday 2009
Well, I played around and had some fun wth estibot.

IF my mobi's were dot coms....estibot says I'd be right under 5Mil

Personally, I think 1% is quite low, but for giggles, 1% of 5 mil is quite a nice ROI,

Another fun note...while checking multiple times, you get prompted to input words to make sure you're human....had a laugh when the requested words were "Executive Dung"

Hee hee just checked 3 of mine and IF my mobi's were worth as much as com's i'd already be worth $2 million!!! So with all my domains i suppose i'm well well over $5 million! But mobi wise it probably severely reduces to something like $50!!

Cheers Estibot you p*** taking motherf**ker!!! LOL!!!

Yes, it's worth reading, and worth using. For one, it's the only captcha that I could actually get to function properly, it's free, and, as said, can be entertaining.

Another important aspect is that each time you solve a reCaptcha you are serving the greater good by helping digitize old books to further human knowledge.

It's an ingenious concept. I used to donate all my unused computer time to SETI@home, and it feels nice to donate something to advance some nonprofit venture, if nothing else, CPU time

Amidst all the profit-hunting that we engage in as domainers, it's good to try and do something no matter how small to be a part of something bigger

However the estimates for .mobi dropped dramatically on all my mobis over the last 2-3 months. Did some of the negative hype skewed the market drivingwn mobis values dropping over 50% on Estibot?

So you are aware I own a few premium undeveloped mobis like profesional.mobi (Spanish), gymnastic.mobi, dunebuggy.mobi, hardcores.mobi, petites.mobi, slugger.mobi, to name a few, & Profesional went from $4000 down to $420, so what is that telling me? Was it just the site re-calculating the values more efficiently or did the mobi market become depressed by the industry within the last 3 months, or both?

I do however KNOW that mobi will be worth the investment in time. The numbers don't lie. 2 billion phone users and there are only 700K mobis sold to date means the pool of domains will be very low (to be ludicrously obvious - 2 billion is a number that's hard to comprehend compared to say as an example 1 million + mobi domains over time.) I am going to hold on for some time and buy more. The mobi investment outlay is low compared to most investment options plus its fun to create new concepts for potential use.

Because Estibot is based on past sales and the fact that .mobi has very few of those, a few large sales (or low ones) can understandably alter Estibot's valuations. I find it more accurate to use a 0.5% to 2% valuation (based on mobile relevancy) of Estibot's .com prices, rather than trust it's .mobi ones due to the limited data available and a few glitches here and there.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=366634

As for making the investment in .mobi... I couldn't agree more For what it costs (a few thousand) to have a very solid .mobi portfolio would cost hundreds of thousands, if not millions in .com. Even if .mobi never amounted to more than a fraction of .coms value, the potential to double, triple, quadruple (etc) your investment is sufficiently high enough to justify the risk IMO. Looking at a name I regged back in March (giving hope to post-landrush non-aftermarket .mobi investors); KitchenSinks.mobi is appraised at $200 according to Estibot. For a $10 investment, that's a pretty good ROI already And considering the .com appraises at $400k, one would have to say the sky is the limit -- especially for those of us with hundreds/thousands of .mobis...

And the joy of being at the forefront of something new and exciting... being one of the first to make the plunge into mobile web development and reap all it's rewards soon to come -- PRICELE
