IMHO .... DISNEY using .mobi may be the biggest move forward to date.

Yes, I think it's more important than BofA, AAA and Zagat, because this age group will quickly adopt .mobi and make it cool.

The 30+ crowd may be somewhat set in their ways of using .com and reluctant to explore new areas. But with Generations, X, Y, Z...whatever, they are ripe for new ideas and they are totally glued to their cell phones. Just go out and try to find any teenager in the U.S. who does not have a cell phone.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=366329

Therefore when DISNEY gets them to try .mobi and they see a quality product, it will spread like wildfire.

I have always felt that the breakthrough for this ext. will come from the younger crowd using it. DISNEY is a big step in that direction.

I would suggest fellow .mobi domainers to target the Disney age audience.

I would agree with that. I use my cellphone, but if you look around, everyone under 30 literally has the thing glued to their head. There's your market right there.

i agree with that to an extent about a young trendy outfit using it & appealing to the youngsters who will by word of mouth spread mobi.
However , the biggest users of the internet are 60+, certainly in the UK

And football season is right around the corner with BOFA sponsoring the NFL. This will be a very exciting next few months to see the publics reaction, if ads like this start flowing in!

Maybe true, but what matters is who are the biggest users of cell phones

yes very true of course, obviously youngsters.

however, it is never ceasing to amaze me how unset in their ways the older generation are.
they're like newly born technophiles.

i se them all the time, for example when i took my little'un to a themepark the other day i saw some grandparents whip out a real trendy mobile phone & slide it across & take pics of their grandkids in the stocks with their 2 mill mega pizels.lol
couple years ago, the crusty disposable camera would have come out

maybe both sides will come across from the dark side, lol

I think it often takes a younger demographic to jumpstart a new technology and then the older crowd follows. .mobi could follow this path.

I let that name sit 2 months on my list before reggin it, I had the same trouble, then I said why not for $30 but I am gona make that my next goal ASAP and promote it (and get it done with the times) along with my ringtone site which should be done within 2 weeks.

Anyway, every day we see more and more kids with cell phones, just wait until they learn about .mobi. And I think all of us with our great names should use HSM2.mobi as a leverage point towards are next developments. Lets cater towards the 13-18 crowd with our names over the next month or so. The more sites that they will use the better we will all be.

i have pure generics really & acronyms in my portfolio
i don't really have the kind of coolringtones.mobi type domains

for those that do, you may see a spike in type-ins soon with maybe increased activity
who knows? kids are curious as we all are & they may think, hmm. hsm2.mobi
wonder what else .mobi is out there ?

AIDS/HIV
High School Musical 2 is the most long-awaited television event for its demographic and parents. It's wholesome, it's fun, and there have been HSM2 parties across the country to celebrate its arrival.

This is a major step forward for .mobi, whatever it scored on the compliance scale. If Disney's on board you know there is something to this.
