To hell with AdBlock

hey there mates,
I found script that blocks anyone using Adblock from your site if your using Adsense...
Put this script on your site. Anyone using Adblock extension with FireFox will get This welcoming message...

Code:
<script> function dieAdBlockPlusDie() { var giframe = document.getElementsByTagName("iframe"); var blocked=1; for (var i = 0; i < giframe.length; i++) { var name = giframe[i].getAttribute("name"); if(name == "google_ads_frame") { var blocked=0; } } if(blocked){window.location = 'http://articlewagon.com/thief.htm';} } setTimeout('dieAdBlockPlusDie()', 2000); </script>

:hehe:

I found this at a Thread here

Usefull for those who might be losing adsense revenue due to Adblock...

How about some rep ;)

The Internet is a free place and people can do as they please - including block whatever ads they want. And I say this as someone who makes his living in part from adsense revenue.

There is no better way to piss off a user and never to see them again, to do such a thing. There are many other ways to monetize a website that doesn't include adsense or other known advertising units that are blocked by such software. I would much rather the person blocking my ads come back, bookmark the website, tell others about it, leave comments (free content for me) etc etc etc.

I've seen this argument before... Your free to your own opinion. Personally I I don't like adblocker and would smile a bit when the land on "thief.html".

I support Ad-Block Plus... any site that did not allow me to visit it because of that fact would make me laugh and very quickly be forgotten.

Wow! What a great way to lose visitors to your site. This is about on the same level as the sites that used to display rude messages if you used Internet Explorer. As stated above, there are other ways to monetise your site, and even if a few users use AdBlock (or other ad blocking techniques) if your site has compelling content these users will refer it to their friends. By pissing off this small group of users, you are cutting yourself off from a larger number of referred visitors.

not a good thing to do in the long-run. your impressions might go up a little bit more for a short time, but in the long-run you'll lose out.

The thief.htm page is funny. You do not want to admit you are "WANTING" your visitors to CLICK on your ads. I guess each to their own. Some visitors don't even have a clue they are blocking ads! but it is their website and they can do as they please. Article Wagon is a decent site too.. oh well
