Considering the market, my pockets and a few other things, I will probably be holding these for 2 years minimum... probably a lot more.

Unless, of course, someone offers me a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano... I sell all now.

Yes, but if like me you have been trading Forex and Commodities for the last 3 years, with 15 seconds trades, then I guess 2 years is an ethernity.

I see this thread has become a chat rather than a professional listing of domain sales...

anyway if you traded forex, you know that you can`t sleep at night or go to the toilet sometimes without worrying to lose 30 %.....

Yes, you are right, I don't want to exted to chit-chat here.
Just to answer you...

Yes, that is more or less right. I've been in the stock markets for 14 years now (3 years with FX), and since day 1 I have never ever performed any trade without a stop-loss, a trailing stop and a sell point. Being a technical analist helps a damn lot.
30% is nothing I worry about if you ask me, but hell yes... nights tend to be long

BTW.... the week dollar turns my buys cheaper. 1.4721 atm

I quitted stocks and option trading in 2004......I like my 8 hours sleep....and in the domain industry you don`t have to worry about the "morning futures"...

have a look at this guy what he did just this week:

http://highprobability.blogspot.com/...res-video.html

in 7 minutes, you can see his reaction on losing $31,000 trading on futures last Monday with Wall street being closed.

Jan 21, 2008: Paid LLLL .com for $208.2

Jan 23, 2008: Email sent to seller

1 hour ago I got an email from seller:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=358387

Quote:
Sandi,

I am sorry but I closed my listings with Afternic some time ago. For whatever
reason my account is still open and **** .com reappeared on my listings
along with other domains I don't even own.

**** .com should not have been listed on Afternic's service at all as I had
placed a request to close down my account some time ago.

I've been selling Norwegian buyout babies (ie regs from October 30th - Nov 1st) out of the EuroDNS vault usually fetching around $40 lately give or take $5 ... on eBay!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=358387

The cost differential seems to be more in terms the time I spend writing a bit extra to my buyers to explain pros and cons of taking the transfer at EuroDNS - and also then some more time spent to handle the few transfers to other registrars for those buyers who choose to transfer out right away and either need an auth code, or who have payed some extra $ to cover my cost to do the transfer on their behalf (which I offer as a courtesy - and to make sales easier in case that might otherwise be an issue).

The "EuroDNS" deals in December were a nice opportunity to pickup a bunch at good prices while other buyers might have been hesitating about the "unfamiliar registrar" issue - EuroDNS is okay IMO, not great but good enough. And internal pushes are easier to do than at GoDaddy. So that was a lucky break, I think.

I wouldn't take the same chance with domains registered at 1and1 though ... Would have to be a hell of a deal for me to consider dealing with that headache!

ob price: just picked up ->

QKIY @ 25
response to my "anti-premiums wanted" post

was actually offered at 20, but I thought should be worth at least an extra $5 by the time we completed the deal, so that's what I paid ... still a very nice pickup @ 25 in my opinion.

I still can't understand people selling domains that have upcoming tendency for the price that you can't even have a dinner at restaurant!

Good buy but not that bargain

RN stands for : Registered Nurses, Royal Navy.

If it was Sedo auction .. ONRN.com would sell for a higher price.

well, sometimes it's not dinner at a restaurant, but groceries for a week. I've been there - and am happy to sell for a decent ROI when I need the $$ - some part of my holdings I tend to look at more as a bank account than a "vault" ... Money goes in, money comes out, life goes on ...
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=358387

(But there are plenty that won't be coming out of the vault for years to come. And a few that I'll be keeping for myself just for fun.)

I do wish I could keep every single one of them for a much longer holding period - but there's something to be said for paying the rent and feeding the kids!

I figure there will always be some chance to pick up (relatively) good deals again later - maybe at some huge multiple of current prices, but still some distance from the "top" - however many years off that may be (when prices finally level out a bit, if they ever do).

so ... 200% or 300% ROI after 3 months isn't such a bad deal either!

And still this non-premium LLLL.com domain! with W in it
If I own let's say 1000 triple premiums with W, V, J, K, U, Y, X, Q as forth letter (and I don't own 1000 yet ) there is nice probability that many of my acronyms will be next SWOT and will be sold for mid-high $XXXX. World changes and new organizations, companies, terms appear every day!

Just to add something there also... Remember that most stocks, options, etc... are known as 3 or 4 letters...
IT delivers 4 letter acronyms every day.

Imagine you have the next JAVA

BTW! Thx for our deal ERGO I'll report it once I get the domains.

The price is that high because SWOT Analysis is a tool used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats involved in a business.
