Average sale prices on eBay during April were well up on March. The April mean was the best on eBay since September 2008. Here's an analysis of trends over the past 12 months. As always, I've excluded domains selling for more than $100 as I consider them outliers on eBay. All averages below are based on trendlines calculated from weekly figures, so smoothing out irregularities.

Over the past 12 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $0.44 a month, a total of $5.34 over the period. The trend showed a rise from $18.39 to $23.73, which is a rise of 25% based on the midpoint.

Over the past 9 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $1.19 a month.

Over the past 6 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $0.79 a month.

Over the past 3 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $2.61 a month.

Monthly means were -

I want to thank you for your analysis too. I'd already noticed an increase in ebay prices last month but it's nice to have that confirmed by your data. Let's see if the trend continues this month.

I expect the price will hover between $20 - $40 for a while. However, one day some large investors will decide that any LLLL.com below $60 is a bargain and start hoarding them and the year that happens will see a lot of growth for LLLL.com investors. The following years won't be so exciting but that year will be a good one. That's my prediction.
