On one side it looks there are NOT many people buying it, but on other side there are just few for sale.

I'm both buying and selling actively so count that twice


There are actually quite a few people trying to buy them on the forums, but they are mostly after the real bargains. Whenever I list my cvcv.com's for sale I get quite a lot of interest, but few people who are willing to make an offer near the actual market value.

Many owners are indeed withholding them and asking for unreasonably high prices. Recently I've randomly emailed some top quality cvcv.com's which are not actively used to see how much they are asking and most of them wanted around $20k, while the market price for good cvcv.com's is around $2-3k now. I think this is actually good news for all of us CVCV.com investors and resellers. More and more cvcv.com's are ending up in the hands of end users or large scale domain collectors/investors - who only sell to end users at high prices. While in the short term it may not have much effect, but as the tendency continues eventually the diminishing supply and growing demand will drive the prices up. Also the falling prices for low quality LLL.com's may drive the new waves of domain investors towards the much nicer looking good quality LLLL.com's which are in the same price range.


Some top cvcv's hit the auction houses every week and receive a fair bit of bidders' attention. There are also some posted for sale on the forums from time to time, however usually the sellers ask high prices, so not many of them sell.
Generally I'd say there are considerably less of them on the market now than in the recent years, maybe it's because the market is cooling down, or on the contrary people bought them high and now, after the prices dropped 2.5 years ago, waiting for them to rise again, or are just not ready to sell that low.
CVCV.com prices on auctions are rather predictable nowdays, while VCVC.com can be all over the place, from ohih.com $104 to okid.com $2,989 (both from namejet)


To sum it up the tendency we've seen over the last few years in the LLLL.com's market has been quite clearly in favor of higher quality, pronounceable and brandable names. They hold their value, invite end user interest and can fetch surprisingly high prices on auctions. At the same time the lower end names are struggling to find their own niche after the price corrections.

Double and Triple repeating letters suffered a serious price collapse. I think the main reason is because they don't have considerably higher chances of attracting end users and are just good for collectors.
