The sale of fxtg happened many months ago. I only posted because I don't think it was reported here in this thread.

Interesting. I guess there were other Chinese bidders involved in order to push the price up that high.

EGUO.COM $16,000 just now on NameJet.

another fight between chinese bidders. i suppose because GUO can mean country/state/kingdom in chinese, like in Zhōnggu (China = 中国)

talking about premium letters, and vowels and other stuff...

Average sale prices on eBay for March were up against February's average. Here's an analysis of trends over the past 12 months. As always, I've excluded domains selling for more than $100 as I consider them outliers on eBay. All averages below are based on trendlines calculated from weekly figures, so smoothing out irregularities.

Over the past 12 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $0.28 a month, a total of $3.32 over the period. The trend showed a rise from $11.22 to $14.54, which is a rise of 26% based on the midpoint.

Over the past 9 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $0.65 a month.

Over the past 6 months mean prices fell at an average rate of about $0.04 a month.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=358387

Over the past 3 months mean prices fell at an average rate of about $0.11 a month.

Monthly means were -

April $14.83
May $13.39
June $8.57
July $8.61
August $9.09
September $11.98
October $10.59
November $18.03
December $18.12
January $13.91
February $12.03
March $13.40

Average remaining registration rose over the 12-month period. This rise deducts about 11 cents from the monthly price rise, bringing the effective price rise down to about $0.17 a month.

Average domain quality also rose over the 12-month period. This rise deducts about 11 cents from the monthly price rise, bringing the effective price rise down to about $0.06 a month.

Here are the percentile trends for the 12-month period -

The 5th percentile rose from $2.26 to $2.79, an increase of 21% based on the midpoint.

The 25th percentile rose from $4.76 to $6.81, an increase of 35% based on the midpoint.

The 50th percentile rose from $8.09 to $10.81, an increase of 29% based on the midpoint.

The 75th percentile rose from $13.57 to $16.31, an increase of 18% based on the midpoint.

The 95th percentile rose from $33.11 to $45.78, an increase of 32% based on the midpoint.

Seeing 'double' and 'triple' premiums up there in the four figure sales reports is kinda sweet.

Underlines what a lot of people have been saying about domain quality and appeal being independent of letter quality as set out by some domaining guide.

Demand is up, prices not so much, I think I'll wait for the right offers.

I saw recently on eBay "CLFO" which was one of my babies.....what happened?

On the other sad note, I am in emergency so if any falcon wants some bargain at less than $50 each, have a look shortly in the sales forum, cheers.

I'd like to make it clear that my analyses, which I've been posting monthly in this thread for some time now, are based on reported eBay sales of LLLL.coms. They are in no way intended to reflect overall market conditions, and should be read in context.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=358387

In last month's post I mentioned that sales volume during February was substantially down against the preceding 11 months. This trend continued last month, but I didn't bother to repeat myself. Monthly sales volume on eBay has fallen over the past 12 months at an average rate of 27 domains a month - compare this with the average monthly sales volume for the last 12 months, which was 457 domains a month.

What I think we're seeing here is a shift on the part of some sellers away from eBay to other sales venues. I've found over the past few months that I can do better, on average, selling at Snapnames than eBay.

EBay sales are only a small part of the overall picture.

Don't worry Ian. Usually, when there is a post like this, snoop is always there to pick up the ball and dribble it for 5 minutes, and then he disappears for another month.

I think some of the naysayers also said that the LLLL.com buyout wouldn't hold, but it has held---solidly....

These days, you don't hear the naysayers saying that the buyout won't hold anymore, even they now know that the buyout will always hold.....it's called supply and demand...
