I would be willing to say that even the worst 4L's will increase 20%-30% year over year. $20-$26-$34...
A prediction of 20%-30% annual price increase could be interpreted as hype.

Well maybe in other investment other than domains. Domains (investment grade) in general have shown an average growth of 40% a year over the last 5 years.

This is a fair figure given the massive growth of the internet over this time. If you believe the future growth of the internet will continue unabated, then figures such as these, 20-30% seem conservative.

At present the economy is struggling, and it's fair to not expect any double digit growth at this time. Although many domain prices are down, recent currency moves such as the strengthening US dollar have, and will also have an effect.

As i have previously stated, if domain prices remain at current levels, given a rising US$ then prices are still rising in real terms.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/short-domain-discussion/358387-the-llll-com-sales-discussion-thread.html

Prices have fallen this year in all classes of domains, and this is only natural given current economic circumstances. Maybe they will fall more, maybe they will rise, and maybe they will stay the same in the foreseable future. But over the long term i would suggest that 20 - 30% is a reasonable guide.

for those who are interested in cheap tripple premium LLLL.com - today at TDNAM there is a big drop (more than 100) domains, many of which are tripple premium, sove even starting with "i" and are still at $10!

I don't consider this hype. This can easily be obtained once all of the drops and backorders have dried up, and buyers are left with only higher prices year over year. This market is probably taking on a few new domainers every day who also want a piece of the pie. Even if the domain industry were to take on 1 new domainer every day for 10 years, this market will go up regardless.

That is no hype.

Nothing like a little controversy to stir up the pot.

And the great thing is that newcomers keep seeing new posts being made here and are probably drawn to come check out what's so interesting in the LLLL.com thread

Even guest counts in the Short Domain section are way up from what I recall recently.

Good point. And if they like a little controversy I don't mind getting a little fired up over things sometimes if I feel passionate about them, so I'll pitch in from time to time and bring-it if I have to, to help out . I may jab the ribs a little too hard sometimes but eh, still all in fun.

Of late I tend to take all decent offers on my names, even if it means not actualising 100% of the potential, cash in hand at these times is not such a bad thing.

I've had some decent sales and some bad burnouts in the last two or three months, but it evens out over the long term.

Though I have held back or overprice on names I don't really want to sell

difficult to say. if this 1000 will help you, probably you shall sell sending it to auction.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=358387

I would say if you decide to sell to avoid taking a loan from the bank to repair a car or whatever, then sell it by send it to auction,

if sell now just to have another 1000 in the pocket then you need, before making a decision, to evaluate the probability of higher $ sale in two-three years and compare it to what this 1000 may buy you in domains or other goods right now.

I have heard someone in the USA has bough a house at ebay for $2 and 50 cents (plus ca. $800 taxes or whatever). Well, looks like you may already exchange your LLLL.com for a house

Back to purchases.

I bought today FQRI.com for $15+regfee at TDNX. I especially liked the very strong RI ending. Frequent Questions Rode Island. Do you think it is good acronym?

Anyone else got anything today at a drop party at TDNX? By the way, for the next 10 days there are just 81 listings, incl. one CVCV tomorrow (these 81 domains were regged from August 30 till Sept 08)

Looks like the amount of drops regged in September is not rising but, on the contrary, is falling!

First of all look if buyer is an end-user or a reseller (click on buyer information link in Offer page - date of registration will hint you if offer is from reseller). If it's end-user then command 10000$.... If he cancels negotiations you loose nothing because 1000$ is a reseller price fro this domain. If it is a reseller - you won't get price much higher than you could get now from reseller - simply send this domain to auction then. IMHO

I was bidding on bpqd.com too, but my timezone means I have to sleep during all these major auction times, and so most of the time I cannot join the party.

I only got 2 domains gqni.com and gqno.com. I like names ending in i, o or a, because there are many acronyms with these letters. Prices were really cheap today at TDNAM but as was already said, the number of drops in the next days is much lower than today.

Thanks Ergo. The buyer made first offer in early September for $250 and now he is up to $1000. He is a new user, account created in September 2008. He says this is his final offer. I would be making 100% ROI, but I feel it has more value...tough decision right now...should I send to auction I doubt anyone will bid much higher.
