Einstein Was Autistic Researchers at Cambridge and Oxford universities believe both scientists displayed signs of Asperger's Syndrome. Many people with Asperger's are often regarded as being eccentric. They sometimes lack social skills, are obsessed with complex topics and can have problems communicating. This latest research suggests that Einstein, who is credited with developing the theory of relativity, and Newton, who discovered the laws of gravity, had these traits to varying degrees. According to the researchers, Einstein showed signs of Asperger's from a young age. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2988647.stm  Hey, this guy is one of my "heroes".. cool dude! ;) |
Smart people seem to tend to be slightly autistic. Its been found that many of the best hackers (the ones who find the best ways of doing things and write the best programs) are usually autistic to some degree as well. |
Here's a video about Autistic geniuses or 'Savants' It includes Daniel Tammet who after suffering an epileptic seizure as a young boy became a genius, in one demonstration he recited PI to 22,500 decimal places and learned to speak fluent Icelandic (considered the hardest language to learn) in only one week. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay...rceid=zeitgeist - Enjoy. |
