bdm- you have some neat names- but you said on one of them:
tend.tv (gardening? not sure really!)

never register a name with out a clear game plan for it- unless you have food.tv or car.tv- you need a plan.

whether people like my names or not, i have a plan for each one- i do not intend on developing but if i have to to sell it, i can. plus, some names you need to sell harder than others and you have to know why you bought it and what it can do for your future buyer- if a buyer kinda likes a name, but says what can i do with it? and you say, well, not sure really....- you are gonna lose that sale-

before you hit that purchase button- can you see a site, that can make money, using the name?

dont want to see you get burned buddy-

Hi smashfactory.
Yes I do get your point and I usually do have an idea when I register (Im not saying they are the right ideas!), but yes I do follow that way of thinking. I dont look at .tv names any other way, but streaming video, when Im thinking about an idea. Tend.tv was easy to say and a 4 letter that sounded adaptable - worth the 25 I think.
Im enjoying playing around and hope to develop a few. For the investment, its quite a cheap hobby. I will stop at 200 I hope, only 6 to go. :(

cheers

Most look worthless to me.

Gather up all that money and time and buy a good domain from the secondary market.

BDM1 05-23-2007 08:47 AM

I dont show you the good ones :hehe:

Your right though, Ive only just realised that there is a huge second hand market for .tv. Im a newbie you see. This is the only domain forum I have ever been in and Im learning a lot.

BDM1 05-24-2007 11:45 PM

everyone but exclusively.tv

coen.tv
south-america.tv
beatboxing.tv
play-station.tv
dealt.tv
signatures.tv

a couple of nice HAND REGS, what do you think?

BDM!,

I know you are only joking about Exclusively.TV, but I have started to see some bashing of his appraisals going on.....

Is it because he is one of the few to say things how he sees them??

I have seen some of Robs appraisals that I think are way off the mark, such as bakingchannel.tv not having any practical applications for video.......

IMO that was a screamer of an appraisal, but it was coming from the heart.....in as much as I could tell.......

So buckle up people, asking for those appraisals may not give you the answers you are looking for....at least Exclusively is prepared to step outside the comfort zone...;...and give an honest response

BDM1 05-25-2007 12:44 AM

Thanks for your post allthings. (-: Im not bothered what appraisel he gives, thats his prerogative and own judgement. It was light hearted by the way, he just made me laugh at the way he tried to tell us that there are no hand regs left and they have been done to death before. maybe so, but thats before .tv really started to stand for online video content. It is the new buzz and things have changed. It is now the beginning of tv, not 2 years ago, when they became available.

Furthermore, I see outyophj.com (e.g.) sell for silly money all the time, they mean nothing, you have to spell them to get your name across and domainers are buying them.

I think .tvs are going to be huge and I predict the biggest resurgance in the internet since it started way back when.

Its a great time to be in domaining with .tvs as I think they will be the only names to have.

cheers... (I LOVE DOT TV)

equity78 05-25-2007 01:16 AM

They did not become available two years ago Created in 96 started being marketed as Television instead of Tuvalu in 98.

UK Football excellent registration IMO

BDM1 05-25-2007 01:41 AM

Thank you on both points equity78. In Thailand we are little slow.

BDM1 welcome to the space. I don't mean to beat you up too bad. I just hate to see people going wild on pure speculation solely for price appreciation and that's the sense I have been getting with all these appraisals hitting this forum.

I see your names have no particular theme. Do you want to diversify? You may want to think about a specialty niche that you can develop. Just a suggestion.

Also, are there any registered names that you would LOVE to own? Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on hand regs, make an offer on a couple gems that really catch your eye.

Good luck with your portfolio.

(PS Thanks allthings for the kind words)

Barossa and Barossavalley are great names, it is our best known wine region here in Australia and I can tell you the tourists flock to this region in droves,
If you can develop BarossaValley I would do it if I was you, It has a background of German Settlers and the Europeans and in particular German travelers love the place,

Good potential in my opinion!

smashfactory 05-25-2007 06:17 AM

his portfolio is doing pretty ok- i am in the middle of brokering 3 of his hand regs- for $500.00 each:-) will let you know the names as soon as the deal is done :-)

BDM1 05-25-2007 07:07 AM

thanks Meeks, I am an Adelaide boy by the way, so I know the Barossa well.
Lived away for a while now though.
I only bought them for keepers until I get back to Aus. Unless I get an offer ofcourse :bingo: I will have a look if your idea is still available.
Cheers and come on the crows!

I looked at both BarossaValley and the one I pm'd you, back in March as well as regions in NSW and WA that I wont mention here in case you want them , thinking about it now as a wine lover I should have cornered the Australian market when I had the chance....Doh
