Assuming $35/month then you are getting about 2 cents per impression which is pretty good. Admob will often pay as little as 2 cents per click so getting that per impression would be great.
When you say you get 50-80 visitors a day, I assume that is measured by visits to the home page? If these people are asking for an ad on a page that is a couple of clicks away from the home page, can you rely on 50-80 as the number? Or would the advertiser be more interested in the number of visitors to the particular page where the ad would be? Maybe the answer depends on how sophisticated the advertiser is...

I think the advertiser would be predominantly interested in the amount of unique (i.e. ip address counted only once per 24 hours) visitors, rather than visitors per se. My site ranks ~ 6m alexa and receives approximately 20-30 uniques a day, whereas it receives 80-120 visitors on an average day and 200-500 hits.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=330511

Granted Canines.mobi is ~ 7.5m alexa, I guess it would be fair to say that uniques are likely not higher than 20-30 per day.

Reece, thanks for your post. I see how uniques would be more relevant to the advertiser, but what about the particular page? If I'm paying for an ad on a particular page that is not the home page, I think I'd be very interested in how many unique visitors go to that page. If it takes 8 clicks to get there, the number of actual visitors to the page might be just a fraction of the uniques to the site. Or is it just accepted practice to base ad prices on overall uniques and not complicate matters by analyzing each and every individual page?

Thanks,

MM

You're correct.

Usually advertiser's are interested in being on the first page of the site however, as it promises more opportunities as well as the fact that alternate pages are much more susceptible to fluctuations in traffic than the homepage.

I will send a email to the enquirer asking if she received my reply.
If she has changed her mind no problems at all.I will let you know if I receive any reply at all.

It was just great for all us mobi owners that I received the enquiry.
Hopefully we will all receive many such emails in the near future.

Reece Re stats for the site. Only low as yet , but growing daily.
Maybe Alexa does not update as quickly as the traffic is multiplying.
The site went online sometime in feb 07 -

16 uniques visitors for that month.
March was not much better with 33 unique visitors .
April saw things start to improve with 118 uniques visitors
May- it just took off the last 3 weeks-huge in comparison - so far for this month 1323 unique visitors.

I also have a lot of "doggie" desktop sites, so I have links to canines.mobi on these telling people to look at the mobile dog site while on the go.

Having a group of sites in the one field is an enormous help.

People are becoming aware of mobi.

The same scenario is happening across my mobi sites.
All accept for the parked sites. They are lucky to get 1 hit a day.
Hits are mostly from Nokia , samsung, up, motorolla mobile browsers but some hits are also from desktops, but the majority is from mobile phone browsers.
I just need to find time to put mini sites on my individual doggie mobi names.
I only have 2 up so far linking back to canines.mobi.

I am just amazed that people will spend money surfing doggie sites on the mobile internet.
When I put the site up I really thought that this would not really suit the mobi application.

For the next few months I will be spending my time developing mobis, they seem so much easier to get traffic to than a new com site.

We all need to develop while we have very little competition in the mobile space.
