It's an alpha-numeric "pointer" which redirects the user to wherever it's going based on the intent of its owner, be it to an actual website, an email, chat, whatever. Next? :D |

What does it mean when users talk about xx$? |
I got a question that needs an aswer I'll check the faq site to see if its there if not i'll ask here. Edit: Okay i saw part of what I wanted answered. Does the whois info need to be real? cause on my domain i kinda changed a few things after random people started calling my unlisted cellphone. and house number |
It needs to be real "enough" to contact you, at least. Otherwise, http://wdprs.internic.net/cgi/rpt.cgi Also, if you want to sell the domain name, it'd be good for people to have a way to get in contact with you. -Allan |
hi how about this one Q.should i buy a more than one domain name? A.Yes some people like to have more than one domain point to their site if you would like to be domain.com and the only domain go for domain.org,domain.gov,ect.some companies like that idea yea it may be a few names to buy and resale (it is a chance )but do researh and keep checking on expired names it will be well worth the pay off. |
Q: Is it possible to use any other characters than a-z in a domain name? A: Both yes and no, cause the special characters ( such as 'æ', 'ø' and 'å' ) are not in fact in the domain, but is replaced by other character strings. For example the domain name 'øøøø.dk' is replaced by 'xn--pdaaaa.dk'. Other sites, such as 'ælfred.com' is replaced by 'xn--lfred-rra.com'. But it does depend on your registration provider. I am not entirely sure how it works though. :/ |
Don't understand what NP$s mean and what they do Don't understand NP$s. A guy PM me and said do you do NP$s? I'm new to selling domains. |
NP$ = NameBucks, you have 2.00 at the moment... anyway they are the namepros currency, you get NP$ when you make posts... look around the site and you will find more info :) Cheers |
after a domain has expired, if you move it to a new regsitrat.... is it classed as a registration or a transfer? |
WildChild: Answer: According to pagesGarden.com, you must renew your domain first and then transfer it. Question: What is currently the longest single word Domain name that serves a purpose? Answer: According to the guiness book of world records the town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-Llantysiliogogogoch owns the domain Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-Llantysiliogogogoch.com |
That domain you mentioned is 59 characters long. The longest a name can be is 63 characters. There is a website started by a fellow NP'r here that started the "The World's Longest Email Address Provider" and the domain is 63 characters long so it would probably be one of the longest (if not the longest developed name). :tu: The site is >> http://www.abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwx...abcdefghijk.com :gl: All the Best, Chris |
i am aware, but i meant the longest domain that servers a legitimate purpose, like anyone could just put in 63 letters, but a domain that has to be that long such as the domain name for that town is legitimate. |
new here.. Thanks to all of you... learning slow..:). |
Question Yer im new to this namepros site. I was reffered by Dan Ward. How does the whole business of NP$ work? When i get enough NP$ to exchange for U dollars and I exchange them does namepros send the money direct to my paypal account or do I have to request it? |

If it's banned from search engines or any other stuff you need to know, and what other stuff do I need to look for when thinking of registering an old domain?
