Register a two-word name (almost no relevance to TV, but extremely high OVT)?

I saw a .TV name available that has a good search result from google and overture in almost 7 figures (~1,000,000) monthly and 5 figure daily overture (~20,000).
It has two words, but it has almost no relevance to .TV unless you develop an innovative product that will make it relevant to .TV.

I'm just looking for a quick flip if I am to buy this domain (non-premium reg fee).

Do you guys think it's worth it?
I'll post up the domain name if I decide to purchase it.

If you are sure that you can resell it or develop it .. so register it.

to tell u the truth if i dont know the name i cant tell

if i were u i wouldnt buy any domain in tv tld cause
value is big only for related ones and some serious ones like ll.tv

i dont prefer to reg little to no relevance to .TV two worders
because in that case overture traffic goes to .com

RogueWriter 05-13-2007 05:45 PM

Hey, if you can get onto the first page in the search engine results, who cares if it is a .com or .tv? I have a 2 word product .tv that does quite well, zero relevance to media/television. If all you are interested in is type in traffic, .tv is the wrong extension anyway. With .tv it is all about relevancy, or general activity in the niche.

Sounds like you've already spent $25 thinking about it.

Buy now, think later?

Make it relevant to tv if you brand it so.

hathhai 05-13-2007 07:01 PM

For .tv domain, you better make it relevance to tv

localexperts 05-13-2007 07:18 PM

I agree with Rogue's line of thinking and disagree that you better be relevant to reg a .TV domain.

If I want to be #1 on Google when someone searches for the keyword and I can secure that spot with PestControl.TV because PestControl.COM is not developed and out of reach, then guess what we are going to make "Pest Control" relevant to .TV because IMHO you can make anything relevant to .TV.

all you need to do to make anything relevant to tv is make a little video of somebody describing the product. Simple.

Heh not yet.

Sorry about the late response everybody.
I've been out for dinner right after I posted this up.

I'll give it a little more thought, and even if I'm not going to register it, I'll post up the name.
So far, I've only been registering one word or two word names that has relevance to .TV. Overture is nothing comparable to the name in mind though.

Thank you for the input :)

localexperts 05-13-2007 07:35 PM

Kubativity has the right mental model to approach this extension.

mrdomainman 05-13-2007 10:16 PM

I've decided not to register the domain.
My decision is that I'm going to only register the ones that I'm going to develop (or something that I can potentially develop... therefore, it has to be in my skill and financial range).
I made a new thread where I posted up the domain.
