showcase: developed sites using demand media tools

visited me.tv and logged in using my enom.tv user/pass

here is the first site i am trying to develop using demand media tools
www.criticize.tv

( sign up and get more visitors directed to your .tv website. your site url will be shown on friends list )

still trying different themes and settings
i am gonna upload some videos soon

i liked Display Ads and Share Revenue thing. new way of parking domains

i would like to know what you think about demand media tools and your development ideas for your .tv names

mrdomainman 05-01-2007 06:04 PM

I also like the revenue sharing offered by demand media.
If you have a name that attracts good traffic, you can start earning money.
It won't be like a regular parked page because you have a site with content (you need to put some work into it I guess).
It's even hosted by them. I don't have to worry about bandwidth or running out of space.

I think I like it:

http://highlandgames-tv.me.tv

The regular address is supposed to resolve in about 24 hours, i.e. www.highlandgames.tv

I have no doubt you will be able to upload your own template at some point in the near future.

This is going to change the world fast.

I guess Mr Rosenblatt had a head start on the rest of us!

I hope people actually develop them instead of making glorified myspace pages. Too many .tv's that look exactly the same will definitely bring down the value of .tv sites in the eyes of the general public. I like what boston.tv is doing...definitely the right idea.

No, My understanding is that your regular address will resolve to the sub-domain.

Arghhhh, would like some clarification on this. If it only resolves to the subdomain, then that is lame. I personally don't care because I will dev anyway, but it is kind of a rip to the noobs who pay $25 a year for a glorified myspace.

equity78 05-01-2007 10:31 PM

They are paying for a domain reg not for tools, people are paying $44 at Godaddy and getting nothing but a domain so the tools area bonus.

Its just another option if you own 20 domains you will not develop them all so this gives you a way to get a domain in the search engines and generating some traffic maybe making a little money with a domain that would earn nothing parked.

If you are looking to develop a www.sail.tv you are going to need to spend the money to develop those.

can users upload their own videos to these me.tv sites?

Cate.tv 05-02-2007 12:07 AM

www.ImGay.Tv - Will be developing this in to a professional site later but just wanted to get something started! - Cate - Let me know your site & I'll add it to my website list!

equity78 05-02-2007 02:44 AM

Looks great SKG and it looks like there are plenty that do not go to a sub domain, Like Richard and all the other Demand employees on the ME TV network.

AND CONGRATS TO JOHNTV HE WAS THE ONE WHO OWNED ME.tv and sold the domain giving DEMAND MEDIA use of this great domain

Before I get serious and develop a good domain, I am going to play around with this one, www.valleygirl.tv ....... a recent reg, but no one wanted it up to this point for $100 bucks, now we'll see if, after I play around with it, I can squeeze a bit more dough out.

"Like, omg so totally!" <----RW does his best valley girl immitation......

My first serious one will be either Instructor.tv or AffiliateMarketing.tv .

StoneRoses 05-02-2007 11:42 AM

TheBulldog 05-02-2007 11:51 AM

http://charger.tv is live now.

RogueWriter 05-02-2007 12:40 PM

It sure is easy to get something basic up and running. The forum, what I've looked at, might bneed a little more structure, but I am not sure if we can do more than I have, yet.

grooves.tv 05-02-2007 01:01 PM

Why don't we make some some of effort to contribute to each others forums? That way we can get em' started! We could build a network to help each other.

equity78 05-02-2007 01:35 PM

Do we know why some are not going to SUB domains? I see Richard.tv just loads not Richard-me.tv same for other sites that I went to that look like Demand Media employees

RogueWriter 05-02-2007 01:42 PM

I think when I created the site it said something about the domain resolving properly within 24 hours, so perhaps by tomorrow everything will look hunky dory?

Nattydomain 05-02-2007 02:42 PM

Question..If you bought your domain at Dynadot and then transfer it to Enom.tv can you THEN use its tolls?

All my .tv are there except my prem (metalvideos.tv)

checked my domain's dns settings
and have seen no change
changed it manually to enom's "Our DNS Servers" option
dont know why me.tv does not change it automaticly or why CNAME change to me.tv is not enough

TheBulldog 05-02-2007 03:00 PM

MissingChildren.tv is now online. Thanks to Ferman for pointing it out.
