What are your TV habits? Get to know us.... It's funny, but I don't actually watch that much tv, and yet here I am seeing the unique possibilities of the extension. I actually work about 50-60 hours a week in the IT world, mainly on conference calls giving opinions. That leaves me free to do other things in the background. So I was wondering what the rest of you do? Is this your main profession, or do you have responsibilities elsewhere?. Hours spent watching tv with no computer per week: Maybe 4-6 Hours spent working 50-60 Hours spent deving or looking for names: 30-40 Sleep: 6-7 hours a night. The rest: family. |
hours spent working... about 10 per week? that's for outside clients, not myself. i spend about 5-10 hours a week watching TV, but almost exclusively on DVDs. i never actually turn on a real TV hours spend "developing my business" (whatever that means). like 40-60. sleep: 8-9 hours per night. the rest: martial arts, girlfriend, friends, etc. i don't work that much, but it's mostly because i'm still young and do my best not to have high living expenses. |
Funny. I used to work in broadcast & cable tv (cameraman, producer, dir., host). Now that I think of it, my domainer thinking is not much different from my TV thinking. But now I don't watch TV unless its online. One reason is I live in the mountains where there is no reception. As far as work goes I've been an Independent Producer since '94. Which means I have no work schedule at all. I actually no longer take client jobs... exceptions made if everything is just right... and I can do it from home. When not online I work on the house... converting the first floor into an art gallery and the backyard into a small (85 seat) outdoor performance space (both will open this summer). This is the first year in my life where I OWNED all my time so I don't think in "hours" anymore. |
i dont get to watch tv till i head to bed late at night- then i watch shows on hgtv or tlc or discovery usually- love those home shows :-) |
Smash Watching HGTV? Are you a woman? I advertised for a long time on their site and most of their traffic was mom at home spending their time watching the TV. An audience without money and without decision power. We had a very bad ROI there. |
yes, i am a woman- i thought the Queen of Domainland" and "Domain Goddess" and the red hot lips kinda gave that away :-) i am sure most women who are watching it are not buying domains :-) i, on the other hand, am not like most women :-) |
