I must be sick, now trading .COM for .TV

I just sold a small GEO .COM (50K people) to buy a large GEO .TV.

I'm either

a) crazy, due to all the in-breeding on my mothers side of the family
b) sick with the .TV bug
or
c) smart for upgrading

The fact I made 2X on the small GEO .COM in 60 days should rule out a). Guess time will tell if it is b) or c)

C) definitely! (maybe a bit of b too :) )

localexperts 04-29-2007 12:16 PM

I would have said b) :)

Local can i ask if you find there is still many Geo .tv's worth the money being asked for them now??

In my little experience with .tv;s, over past few months i have placed bids on approx 50 UK or European geo .tv's but some of the figures people ask for is incredible, my feeling was that many of the owners would of heard that .tv's are gonna be huge or that some "unknown" investors were buying up all the US Geos at massive Fees so their OK Geo was now worth $xx,xxx.

I really wanted a good Uk based Geo but it looks unlikely now with prices rising so fast and owners getting BIG expectations

US GEO .TVs are all over the map. Some high, Some low.

Fact, very few buyers have gone higher than $1,000 for a US GEO.

As for the UK, Manchester.TV was available as a premium for a reasonable price $1,000. I believe someone got it.

I have stayed away from the whole US market and aimed for Geos closer to Home of where i have decent knowledge & contacts.

For Uk & European Geo's with population of 200k to 750k i think the average price asked for with any sellers i thought were serious about selling was $2500+
I could of got a few about 2 months ago for around $1000 but i lacked conviction & wanted to hang around and see what happened :red:

I cant wait to see all the Geos that have been bough recently get developed, i am looking for ideas for a few i own.

I have just traded a Cuban province .net for the .tv... even trade.

I paid $500 for the .net about three years ago. It was a good trade for the .net owner but the .tv purchase completed my collection of Cuba .tv domains.

d) good anticipation, wise investor

Agree with Argos 100%,

Good luck with your Cuban portfolio.

Thank you. I bought Cuba.tv several years ago, then Havana.tv and now I own all the province names, tourist destinations etc.

When I can't have the .com I like the .info but if it is a subject with video potential (and what isn't really?) I like the .tv.

I think I will always trade a .net for a .tv.

But, trading a .com for a .tv, maybe not just yet.

Im selling .TV at a 3 to 1 ratio vs .Com and the average sales price of my .TVs are much much higher. So No you are not crazy.
