I just responded...I've been incredibly busy lately, and FYI that was ParkingPanel related and not Bodis.

Looks great! I have just submitted an application. But how are you expecting to raise revenue? With a 100% revenue share and a very large hosting bill, I can't see much profit? Will there be the option to donate or something similar?

Yeah, look at the 'free' publicity he is getting from just this thread.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=318378

If they had read the whole thread he explained the business plan this early on.

I have been following this thread closely and am starting to wish some would sit back and give the guy a chance to 'get it right' instead of I signed up but haven't received a reply yet.

It's just that folks are both desperate and excited for a good service. I know I am.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=318378

Even though I expect delays, that doesn't lessen the sting each time there is one.

Do I hear something in the background....Sounds like, "We're going live on (specific date) for sure, so get reaaaady to ruuuuummmmmmmble!!!"

Just writing that got me hyped....!!!! Gonna be a bigger stampede to Bodis.com than Christmas moms flooding toy stores for Cabbage Patch dolls....

Early on though when I signed up there was no explanation that this was not a service currently up and running - honestly I wouldn't have signed on for a 'possible' service... having said that - I'm not in any hurry - but I feel at the start it this wasn't explained at all - nor was there any indication on the site itself at the time of all of this. The only time I realised this was a prospective project is when I got an acceptance email saying basically 'opening soon' or words to that affect.

I'm optimistic and have high hopes for this project - but I'm also mindful if events don't go to plan - there is a database of valuable worth going begging for someone.

Matt,

Take your time. There will always be the complainers, who complain about delays even though they haven't put a dime into your project or don't understand the complexity, time and money that goes into a project such as yours. Then there will always be the ungrateful and paranoid who question your motives. I just want to let you know that I - and most of us, I believe, in the Namepro community - am grateful, believe in your good intentions, and won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I dont get this thread anymore. The Old "here comes a new parking program" Thread (here) which ran for 7 pages and which started in November told us that the:

Design for Bodis started in November and was complete by December.
User admin area was completed in December
2nd design company finished off final version in December
Landing pages were completed in December
Yahoo were the feed provider in February.

Now, I may not be the brightest bulb in the nursery but doesnt feed+landers+user admin = parking company?

As we approach June and have thus far only seen a few static pages of what "is coming", im a little confused as to what could still be the delay? Also, being that weve seen a lot (and I mean a lot) of false dawns on this project, being promised "next week", "soon" just so many times now, might an explanation as to why were all still waiting be in order Matt?? If theres a problem or has been a problem we'd all like to know.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=318378

Id hate to think we'd get close to a 1yr anniversary of the Bodis "coming soon" project and not actually see anything tangible.

It comes from you, the customer....There is no disclosure, so what you think is 100%, maybe only 80%.

I'm always skeptical when a provider offers 100% rev. share, no business minded person is going to absorb 100% of the overhead and work for free, month after month for a 2 year period, anyone that believes this is kidding themselves. They have a right to make money and there going too from launch date 1

Another way to offer 100% rev share and make a substantial profit, is to do what Sedo does; pay for only 1 click, and profit off the remaining clicks.

He is entitled to earn revenue, but I think he should be 100% upfront how its being done.

he is being upfront - the idea that 100% revenue would be given for a limited time was stated, i believe right in this thread

don't forget - its one man working on this project and he's nice enough to update us when he can

What to think of those who question Matt's motives? If you're such a cynic, just don't use Bodis. Period. Why even waste your time posting comments. The comments just reveals the kind of person that you are - a person who wouldn't do any selfless acts and think likewise of others (not to say that Bodis is completely selfless or won't make a profit over 2 years when service charges begin). Let me ask you, if that was the case - Why is the open source movement thriving?

The limited time you refer too is 2 years. This is a quote from post #1

Quote:
Right now Bodis, LLC has the budget to keep itself afoot with 100% revenue share for another 1-2 years time.
My point is that NO business is going to continually lose money for that long a period, operating your own PPC biz is a huge endeavor, more than must of us can imagine....I think the questions I raised warrant some answers, although he maybe honest stating 100% Rev share, he may very well be modeling Sedopro by only crediting 1 click, nothing I see in the description of his service states otherwise.

I've heard this before and it doesn't work, its like saying; If you don't like what you read in my post, don't read or reply to it.....The fact is I have every right to express my opinion on this forum as you do, if I see something questionable or doesn't appear right, it would be irresponsible of me to ignore it.

First let me clarify something that maybe Bodis doesn't even know. There is no guarantee that Yahoo will pay 45 days after the month is over, this past time we received our more on day 52 the time before we received it on day 61. So be prepared to pay a lot of money on day 45 out of your own pocket.

It is possible, to pay out 100%, but Bodis will still need to make money somehow. Either paying for only 1 click like Sedo, terminating a lot of accounts before payment, taking a x% management fee before making any payments, or selling the data of the searches people are doing. There are hundreds of ways to pay 100%, but in the end it's 100% of what.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=318378

I'm sure Bodis will find their own niche as does most other parking companies. As I mentioned in the past it takes a long time to setup a parking company, if you were just setting it up for your own domains it's a 20 minute project, but adding other peoples domains turns it into a 2 month project.

Good Luck you will need it.

Donny

Exactly, 100% of what?....very few seem to be asking that question.
