After my interview with Rick Schwartz someone asked me to interview Rick Latona. Well, I have come through again. I have been asking Rick for months to do an interview, I must have caught him on a good day last week because he finally agreed.

Besides being the 2008 Domainer Of The Year, Rick is the LARGEST domain broker in the world and most recently has been added to the TRAFFIC auction events. In his first TRAFFIC auction which was held in Brooklyn NY only two months ago Rick’s auction brought in roughly $700,000. We will find out very soon if he can top that, next TRAFFIC event is in two weeks which will be hosted in Australia.

OK, lets see what Rick has to say about some of my questions.

Q. What is your educational background?

No problem, you guys want Kevin Ham I will get Kevin Ham. I will have it done January 15th. I only say that long because we are in November which has a couple of events out of the country and December is holiday time. But who knows, I might be able to publish it sooner.

Tony, give Elliot five years.....he came to the game a little later from what I understand and probably started with less money than most of these guys like Frank and Rick. I'd say he's made some fast moves ..... especially if you compare him to most other domainers.

Burbank.com is better than 500 mediocre domains and I suspect he realized that early on and made the bold move to buy and develop. He has done a nice job of developing it.

I think he will make for a good interview since he's in the trenches and not sitting on the sideline with a bunch of cash making strategic purchases like most of the big players. He's fighting his way to the top. Very respectable.

Elliot reminds me of sahar when he first came inn to domaining.

Elliot is one of the most respected domainers and newbie in field.

So I say do interview and for someone to leave corp America, developing geo names, mini sites and less then 2 years in the area he is an inspiration for all of us. Just like sahar when he first started

Right now I wouldn't be charging on cards lol. Cash is king and pay cash for developements and names.

Loved the Rick interview. Great job.

what extensions would be considered CCtld

A country code top-level domain (ccTLD) is an Internet top-level domain generally used or reserved for a country or a dependent territory.

Straight from Wiki :)

I doubt it. I reckon he's talking about ccTLD's in the true sense of the definition. TLDs intended for country specific websites (rather than 'vanity' ccTLD extensions like .me, .cd, .tv .cc etc).

That's just my feeling though...

Seabass - Thank you for the compliment. It's been a lot of work, but I love what I do.

The past several days, I've been re-developing Lowell.com - building the directory by hand like I did with Burbank.com. Traffic has jumped on Burbank.com and I am hoping for the same with Lowell.com. Getting advertisers will be a challenge, but I am ready to embrace it (or hire someone who will). I've also been working on some mini-sites and doing various testing to see what works best.

I am happy to share what I know and have learned... Tune in to Chef Patrick's interview and feel free to drop me a note.
