A point system that I use gives the domain U-R-S.COM a score of 17600
The highest score is 36000 and the lowest 600.

It's crude and I have used it to try and self value my own domains.

What did the domain sell for in the end?

Not sure what it ended up as as I wasnt bidding on it. I have also picked up many e-LL.com's and L-LL over the past year but again until there are a lot more of these sales I have no idea their value (but now I am glad I picked them up.

As I have a couple of hundred LLLL.com domains I thought I would diversify and dip my toes in the water with some L-L-L.com's. Following are my registrations today:

b-ed.com or b-e-d.com ?? does 2 dashes make it better? I think it looks better.. but what about SEO'ing these?

b-e-d.com looks way better than b-ed.com & I would imagine that end users would prefer it as well. L-LL.com domains just look weird to me

The L-L-L category influenced me to look at other hyphen combinations and I also found sales in LL-LL. So guess what I took two (gamble I can afford).
I have:
SH-OP.COM
TE-XT.COM

In straight generics terms these are very strong - obviously the hyphen devalues much.

L-L-L.COM
I'm confident with a good sales person I can sell the ones I have for in excess of $1000 each.

I've seen a lot of businesses using L-L and two extra characters is fine in my opinion.

You forgot to mention h-u-d.com which is actually blowing h-m-o.com out of the water. WAY better cpc (sometimes $1.41 or $1.74 clicks with an average of twice what h-m-o.com gets).

And of course... p-m-s.net (my only L-L-L.net)

There are a bunch of others that get traffic but ZERO clicks... so I got to figure out how to make them convert better.

And the results of my study. That in a sample of 1040 domains (520 LLL.biz and 520 L-L-L.com), there were more developed L-L-L.com (~25%) than LLL.biz(~15%) despite the fact that LLL.biz with poor letters sell for more than 10X reg fee.
