If anything I think this will basically make the existing extensions, especially the Big 3 (COM/NET/ORG) more desirable. It is not like this is happening by popular demand. I would bet 95% of computer users have never heard of an extension other than COM/NET/ORG.

The only situation I could see it being effective is with a .xxx or .sex extension.
