I lost a bunch of 1 Letter domains that way, from 2 registries but I can't proof it of course, all they will tell you, well someone else submitted an application earlier then you (like weeks later upon requesting an update from them)...

again I can not proof it but I highly doubt it so I don't wanna name the registrars, tough luck I guess...

shayen even some "official" websites require a manual application, but it's a dying thing and I think in a matter of years 99% of the ccTLDs will have automatic registration available...

Some funny thing happened to me some time ago.

I saw one .pn domain expired. It was on monthly payment basis, so such names, "in theory", shall be available for reg immediately after expiration date. But, "in practice", they usually are available for reg again few days after expiration date. This is what .pn registry told me. Then I asked: when will that particular name be available since few days passed already?

And guess what: next day early morning after I asked .pn registry about that (let it be say July 27 early morning), the domain has been registered by someone BUT: the registration date was July 28 but it was only July 27 early morning!

The timezone stamp is from the buyers location. It's possible they beat you to the name even though it does not look like it. I think all timestamps should be utc to avoid confusion.

PS. I'm at GMT-5. It means that if its 5am here (approx. time when I checked for the name availability), nobody on Earth is living in the next day, right? Even New Zealand (postal address for .pn registry).

Yea I know what you mean, there is a lot of official registrars who register domains manually only.. It takes a lot of time and effort but dont know why we still dont give up

I gave up my only .by and i think u know which one it is. To risky when registration is being done manually so i stayed away from .by

By the way, three-letter .ps domains are premium domains , it will cost $600 for the first year.

And many good three-letter .ps domains available:

Well I guess you could just sell your whole account, but as far as I remember they did not allow reselling of .ps domains..

I agree that phrases in .me can fetch up to $xx,xxx like your example 2. Call.me can have many purpose so it can be use in many things.

Despicable.me don't have much purpose or very limited in your example 1.This name would probably fetch in low $xx at best if your lucky but if i'm wrong i'm congratulating you now for finding your buyer.

Actually you can omit the WWW when using hack so you don't have to type in the www. The preference of doctors.com over docto.rs is quite obvious of course.
