| Coming from the flipside of the coin, it can be challenging being a step-parent: no matter how much time and effort you put in, one cannot (usually) measure up to the parent they are 'substituting'. Especially when there is lack of support & appreciation from the spouse.
Been there, done that - now older and wiser.
