That one is different. The í bends right instead left.

There were 26 different bidders on the recent auction:

And I would have loved for any of those 26 bidders to buy my or anyone elses legitimate one word or three letter dot com domain names.

I wonder how many of those 26 bidders are also looking at the other fake fix and asking the same thing...WTF?

Just curious, the domain price showed $ 11 before commencing. After the auction was over, it showed RESERVE met. Now I dont understand that.

A while ago I got a big offer for Ge1.com the user thought it was GEL. Sedo wanted to hold them to it, but I was like nah, let em go, it was a simple mistake.

Don't be surprised if Sedo tries to hold these guys to their bids.

Sedo might like to try to hold them to the contract, but then Sedo would probably prefer not to get circumscised on public forums and worldwide television, either.

The current Sedo newsletter which came out today warns about
domain name scams in an article entitled:

Domain Scams and How to Avoid Them

I think they need to heed their own advice.

Indeed they do.

I don't understand why a legimate leader in the industry is allowing this and referring to it as a English "typo" word. Nothing is further from the truth as this is manipulated on the keyboard and is so distant from being a legitimate typo.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=289418

Sure takes a hell of alot of effort to "create" these typos.

This is shocking. Check out this one:FAKE-OIL.COM.

There are no bids on this domain and it is therefore classed as Premium. Considering some of my names that have been rejected as not being premium such as India.im which only took a few months after reg to get a $250 offer, this shows how low Sedo is stooping here! This is wrong!

wíne.com - last I saw on Sedo it was 30,000- euro+ , there's one that won't get paid.

If Sedo had a modicum of sense these " fakes" should be on the auction as punycode with a reference back to description at the least.

Come on Sedo, you are making complete asses of yourselves.

And, six emails , two attempts to register . with codes for Sedo Pro - guess how many replies I have had from you! Yep , the usual, nada, zip, zero, zilch.

I tend to agree with whomever mentioned that perhaps this was an employee at sedo regging and submitting these. They are allowing this to go unchecked. Even if it is not an employee submitting these, the only way a domain name can be submitted to auction without recieving offers is through a Sedo Broker.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=289418

And yet I am told they are too busy to contact me? Yeah, too busy submitting bullshit like this and then having to deal with damage control after the auction. Wonder if the buyer who paid $46,000.00 for the fake "fix" paid up?

On February the 4th, two days after I wrote my first email I wrote another email to my Sedo representative Oliver. I will quote both emails to show you how they understand the issue:

Quote:
Your auctions page is full with scammers. Are you going to start listening before too many people are scammed? Have you seen those fake domains on active auctions:

fìx.com
vísa.com
wíne.com

There are 3 different types of i's. Firstly there is the real i which is what everybody thinks they are seeing. Secondly there is the í with a dot that bends right. This is the í in vísa.com and wíne.com.

Thirdly there is an ì that bends left. This is the ì in fìx.com. You can't even see this since it is choosen on purpose so that it touches the f.

I'm very disappointed with sedo allowing those scammers. You are in domain business but yet you don't know what an idn is. Is vísa.com an idn? No, it isn't. Café.com is an idn since the work Café is a French word. On the other hand vísa.com is just a counterfeit of visa.com.

I suggest that you forward this email to development team and they check the picture on my first message here:
http://www.namepros.com/showthread.p...41#post1743341

Also you idn filter on auction search doesn't work. I choose exclude hypens, numerals, and idn's but it doesn't exclude them.
Quote:
Hello,

Thank you for your email.

Please notice that we are knowing what is an IDN domain and what is not an IDN domain.

Please notice that we are informing our customer about the IDN domain. You can take a look at márketing.com (details of the domain).

http://www.sedo.com/search/details.p...d=&language=us

At this page you see on the top we are informing customer that this domain is an IDN domain whether it is misleading

IDN domain like físh.com or köln.de.

It doesn’t matter if word is a used word in a country or not e.g. café or if it just a misspelled name. The domain is an IDN domain if it could be
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=289418

written also in “xn--“.

café.com (IDN-version)

xn--caf-dma.com (ACE-String)

IDN Domains:

IDN Domains are "Internationalized Domains Names", they make the use of special non-English characters possible

(i.e. Umlauts like "ä", "ö" und "ü", other European Characters like "á", "é", "í"). These domains are subject to many
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=289418
temporary technical restrictions, for example users need an IDN compatible browser to visit them.
Which keyword has you used in order to search for IDN domains?
For further information's please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Kind regards,
Oliver

websítes.net is another IDN listed for auction right now. It received 4 bids so far. SEDO will loose a lot of reputation if they don't stop this nonsense.
