yesterday night i got 24377 (chess) and one adult 7398697. It is strange that chess was not registered till now.

I didn't go nuts. . . haha little low on cash, but I snagged 7854.mobi (all numbers are close together on the pad.)

Can't wait for them to all be taken.

was trying to register numeric version of mynu.mobi and as expected it was taken. registrant has a big sense of humor

well thats just darn crazy, but guess what - i didnt register it because it spelled anything, i reg'd it probably because the numbers are repeating or counting..

ok list updated.. another 163 gone in 24 hours, 2,348 left now.

I went to register a bunch of NNNN early Saturday morning through Moniker and for some reason it said my order was queued. I emailed support and they can't give me an answer other then that they are working on it and they are sending my problem to a tech.

Meanwhile I just checked and all of the names but one I tried to register (also paid for) were taken up by other people.

I'm so surprised. Moniker has always had great support and everything and now I bring them even more business and get billed to order these names, and I still have nothing. I have to wait till tomorrow morning before I get a real answer from them. I want my NNNN.mobi names!

I just checked 60 names on a two day old list (thank-you shopperx) --- only two were available. Anybody want to guess what value these will have once they are all gone? LLL.mobi shot up to $100-150 the moment they were gone, but this is a different game. NNNN.coms seem to be in the $300 - $500 range, but NNNN.nets are somewhere around $50, and NNNN.infos .orgs and .us are of little value, from what I saw in a quick check of another forum.

As I see it the NNNN.mobi is not closely connected to the other extensions. Mobile phones are set up for numbers. A major market for mobile is in Asia, where the number of characters in many native languages is in the thousands. But all countries use ten numerals. There has not been much awareness of .mobi in Asia yet, that I have heard. If .mobi becomes popular in China or Japan then 10,000 NNNN.mobi names will be few indeed...

i don't even have a mobile phone

what does the addition of a hyphen do to numbers in terms of text entry
do you need to go to number mode and then fully back to letter mode to enter a dash or can you enter a dash from number pad very easily ?

i'm curious about the value NN-N, N-N or even NN-NN

any ideas?

All L-L and N-N are taken AFAIK.

On my nokia you have to keep pressed * and the character table will appear. Then you select the hyphen there.

If you press 1 a dot will appear and 0 is whitespace.

someone is playing a game... its the same person/entity almost everytime it looks like.

they reg a bunch, wait about half a day, then reg some more... not sure if they are aware of this but its actually a pretty good formula for NNNN to go up in value almost immediately after sold out, because during those gaps of time other people grab a few NNNN for themselves while the holder of the huge porfolio just sits and waits for people to start selling NNNN for an aftermarket price.

there were like 5,090 left when 1 year registrations started.. so the first drops will happen in February, 2008, and if the godaddyprivateregistration person holds onto theirs, then not many will drop compared to the end of year 2008 where many different people had reg'd nnnn's for 2yrs..

glad i picked mine up on October 11th, but even then i was competing with namegiant.com for every NNNN with 3 repeating digits in a row and completely even numbers like 5400 etc,.. every minute that went by more disappeared, my list got stalled up at resellerclub.com's bulk registration process, so i had to manually reg them 25 at a time, and namegiant.com seems to have gotten a lot of them too.

It does let the little guys in. Nice of him, although yes, it is probably strategic rather than kindness. A few available for sale at each quality level, to create a market. While he sits back and waits for IREIT to call.

the person that has been regging them lately at godaddy with private reg has at least 2,500. probably closer to 3500-4500 towards the end.. but they are mostly random ones, in that they are not memorable and im not sure what method (if any) they are using to register them, i doubt they could be using the "spells things" method with this many of em..

I chalked up a few last night...and I'm not 100% certain, but I think I took the remaining ones that are multiples of 250:

4750.mobi
6250.mobi
6750.mobi
8750.mobi

I can confirm that nothing is available up to 4000, by the way.

That appears to be correct.
