Thanks Anuj
Membership has slowed down a bit, but is still growing at about 5 or so a day. At that pace BQB should have 1000 members in about 5 months. I think 1000 quality members should be more than enough to see comparable prices under most circumstances to what would be found at Sedo, Afternic, or TDNAM -- at least when you account for the no commission advantage.
According to Alexa, the average BQB visitor is looking at 5.2 pages compared to just 4.0 at Afternic, 3.2 at Sedo, and 2.2 at TDNAM (over the last week) -- it's not even up for debate that on average BQB's members are more into domaining.
If you take out the obvious 1 page attributed to any website (example -- just going to the site), the results are even more dramatic -- 4.2 for BQB versus 3.0 for Afternic, 2.2 at Sedo, and 1.2 at TDNAM.
Something interesting -- BQB actually has a considerably better Alexa rank than TDNAM
I'm not even going to pretend for 1 second that we have near as many members -- I've been honest from the start on that figure (now at 228), but it just goes to show once again how "into" domaining the average BQB member is.
200+ sales in the past 3 weeks from just 228 members... Imagine what kind of sales numbers we'd have if we had 700,000 members like Sedo
As for auctions, I'll be making a change -- effective June 06, 2008 -- which will make any auction listed for greater than 10 days end 10 days after the first bid is placed. This will cure this problem rather quickly, while at the same time allowing people to list domains for longer periods of time if they'd prefer (example: just list your domain at it's BIN if you don't want an auction started).
