There is a feature for new members of Dynadot that allows them to get cheaper domains (bulk rates). To do this, you need to deposit $500 (I believe that is still the amount) into your account. That is used for domains, but you need to spend at least $500 to get the discount pricing. Once you have the discount rate it applies to all further purchases, and you do not need to deposit further cash into your account after the $500 to retain the discount rate. You can also return domains (tasting) for free, which is a big plus when dealing with foreign languages.
