Depending on the name, and obviously the extensions inherent problems, there is much to be said for tv.com of .tv. In the end, a ccTLD could collapse and be gone without notice. Anything with a .com, in the relative scheme of things, is probably safer then a .tv. Hence, the argument for tv.com over tv does have some solidly good reasons.
Not that I don't believe in it, just that looking at it from a broad perspective, it is good to see the whole picture.
