Yes: make sure your website is worth re-visiting That's stating the obvious ofcourse, but so is the initial post.

Anyway some real tips for recurring visitors:

1) Enable customers to subscribe to a newsletter of yours. Each time you send out the newsletter it could trigger people to revisit.

2) Create an RSS feed and make sure people can subscribe to the feed. You could use www.feedburner.com it's awesome if you need a fully customisable RSS feed, your visitors will love it! Each time you publish something, the RSS will update and it could trigger people to revisit.

3) If your website is about a specific subject and is publishing regularly then give people previews. For example, try: "Next week on yabayaba.com: Why Yaba hates Baba! and The Truth About Yaba's Baba!"

4) Enable people to create a profile and interact with your website. Once someone leaves a reaction, opinion, message or whatever, then he or she will want to know what the response(s) is/are.

There are plenty more things to think of. But the real message is that your website should be worth revisiting. If you have a uninteresting website then no one will subscribe to your newsletter or RSS feed, no one will create an account and no one will be interested in a preview of upcoming stuff.
