| Still "washed out" IMO, maybe add some color, this can go a long way without being over the top.
Favicons are always a good idea. Display a RSS feed button instead of just a link. Maybe add in image to the header background, & Instead of using plain text for the blog title maybe a bit more stylized text.
I typically HATE the scrolling sidebar, but your is done very well & follows along smoothly without being a nuisance.
