I would advise anyone in .mobi or otherwise to think carefully about names that make sense and would provide a valuable service if developed.

I been saying the same thing since day one. Domainers for the most part are poor developers. This imho has hurt the extension and will continue to do so until that's changed.

One only has to look over the first few months of mobi release to see the pure crap being registered. Names that have zero mobile potential.

do you think .mobi will boom and be more popular from here?

No..I do no think it will continue to boom. The mobile web doesn't need mobi to grow.

Wow.. from your responses it seems like I am not the only one who has had this idea. Nice to know, maybe it shows something. Thanks for confirming my theory. Maybe new domainers will get some insite from this and realize not to invest in .mobi.

Exactly. One has to wonder why the same group of people stand by mobi so hard...could it be they have invested heavily?

If you want more information about mobi, you may wish to check out dedicated mobi forums that exist. If you want to know the url, pm me.

Is the URL a secret? Mobility ain't hard to find...just tell people to search for "mobi forum" at Google. It's #1 result. I was thinking of joining just to see how fast they ban me. I bet I get banned before making a single post.

That is not actually true. There are transcoding features built into .mobi that are not built into .com.

I am trying to get more information about this. Is it a newer feature that mTLD implemented? From the research I have conducted I can't find anything stating this is a .mobi feature. From what I see...it's something built into phones or browsers.
