Early last year I was asking about what kind of mobi names would be valuable. Someone on a forum asked me a very pointed question about what people would want to see on a phone as compared to on a computer. It made a huge difference in the way I thought about .mobi, and led me down the path of becoming more of a developer and less of a name-only domainer. I think that is the mindset that one needs to be successful with .mobi at this early stage of the game, unless you have the financial resources to buy and hold. There's not much money in parking right now.
I would advise anyone in .mobi or otherwise to think carefully about names that make sense and would provide a valuable service if developed. Generic is better than brandable unless you are personally going to develop the brand.
